Is An Electric Car Economical? The SPIES Have YOUR Answer HERE!
The other day I went and claimed that the 2011 Chevrolet Volt is likely the biggest debut of 2010. And I still stand by that.

Even bigger news is that 001 has given it the thumbs up of approval, which is sort of mindboggling, to be frank. Keeping all of this in mind, any "Green" car is associated with numbers. MPG, electricity, gas, the costs of maintenance, cost of fuel, MSRPs.

Name it and there is a number associated with it.

But thanks to our friend Jon, who sent us a lovely tip, all of these numbers that can be confusing finally have a place. That's because BeFrugal.com has a car calculator that contains all of the right variables to give you a pretty good idea of how economical your potential electric/hybrid/gas car purchase may be.

Full disclosure: this is the most thorough car calculator I have ever seen, granted, I don't research these things everyday because I do kiss girls and have a life.

If you play around it long enough, it becomes pretty clear that even though the Volt may a nice piece of jaw-dropping tech, it still is hard to recoup the costs because of its high entry fee.

But make sure to explore yourself....

Is it worth buying an Electric Car instead of Hybrid or Gas?

The answer to this question depends on a number of factors including: your driving habits, gas prices, price of electricity and how you value the environmental impact of your driving. To help you decide if an electric car is the right choice for you, we have created a calculator that will compare the financial and environmental costs of buying an electric car versus buying a hybrid or standard gas powered car.

To find out if an electric car is the right choice for you, simply fill out the calculator below...

Looks best in black. The trunk lid should be the same color as the car.

You don't have to give up your man card to buy a full-electric. Tesla Roadster beats many manly cars to 60 by a country mile.

My main question is why is the Volt pictured in this post, besides possible advertising sales? I ask because it is not full electric?

Chevy needs to update the color scheme of the rear hatch, it should be body colored and not black.

Looks great, and 100x better than the Leaf or Prius. Also should end up being the most practical and fun to drive if the 0 to 60 numbers are correct.
