Chevrolet working on Aveo-based baby SUV
According to the latest reports from Autocar, it appears that Chevrolet is determined to enter the baby SUV and will build a new five-seater based on the 2011 Aveo, which was recently unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car is being designed and engineered in Korea by GM Dat and will make its debut by 2012.

Still, the designs of the car have yet to be finalized, but according to some GM execs that have seen the clay model of the car at the Korean research and development centre, the vehicle uses a stretched Aveo platform and will be offered in both four wheel drive and front-drive guises.

uhm... while I think a two door micro suv could be a very profitable venture. I think it's a mistake to use the aveo platform...

it's a mistake because the aveo is a compact car platform. Building a micro suv on the fwd aveo platform would be like building the building a Jeep wrangler from a neon platform.

First thoughts, isn't the Aveo a Daewoo?
Isn't Daewoo related to Hyundai?
Isn't Kia made by Hyundai?
Looks like it is a badge engineered Soul.
