GM and Ford- All over but the crying?

If you think Detroiters think poorly of our automakers and suppliers, it's doubly depressing to hear the rest of the country talk about the companies that make the Motor City go -- or sputter.

Don't take this as a woe-is-us lament, but rather as a reminder of how difficult the return to prosperity will be for General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. and how resolute the leaders of these companies and the UAW must be to pull it off.

"Too many brands, too many dealers, too many plants, too many people," Jerry Pyle said Thursday, listing the woes plaguing GM and Ford. Pyle, president of Friedkin Automotive, a Houston-based group of Toyota dealerships, was speaking at the ninth annual Elite Dealer Summit of money managers, analysts and the nation's largest auto dealer groups.

Wow big shocker...competitor trash talking another auto company!!! If any foreign auto company had to deal with the UAW they would not be all smiles...lol. GM and Ford are good companies that hire more Americans then all other auto companies combined. Hopefully domestic makers can finally start to produce what they are capable of (well atleast in the States, because they make great foreign cars). Competition defintely is good for the consumer and I hope domestic automakers learn to adapt to current markets. So far GM has made big changes that is pulling it out of the abyss. Hopefully Ford can as well.

Forgot to mention that the dealer sales totals are retarded. There are many more GM and Ford dealerships then there are Toyota so it would make sense that Toyota dealerships sell more cars on average. I would never take stock advise from Hinchcliffe since GM stock raised 6 points in the last month and should hit 40 is all goes to plan.

that is one of the stupidist stories i have ever read. i would had thought that a newspaper about automotive news would stay out of the left wing nutty house but i guess not. Stupid is as Stupid does. That story has more flaws than a stort told by a horse. What a Joke!

GM will survive and thrive later on, although probably in a leaner form. Ford will not, unless they get rid of Ford Jr. and put someone more competent at helm.
