GM Confirms Baby Cadillac On The Way
General Motors Co. will build a new Cadillac small car at Grand River Assembly in Lansing, bringing 600 new jobs to the plant by adding a second shift, CEO Daniel Akerson announced today.
GM plans to make a $190 million investment to add the new vehicle to its luxury line up, Akerson said, confirming details first reported in The Detroit News Wednesday.

This is nothing new they put to the test a baby Buick already to check how people welcome it,and this car is the same thing for sure but different badge.

You are incorrect. The ATS will ride on the currently being developed Alpha chassis. It will be RWD and feature 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, and 8 cylinder engine options.

If its not going to be as good (or better) than a 335i, then GM shouldn't bother wasting their time or money (or further ruining Caddy's reputation).

Please do not introduce another rebadged Opel or small Saab. I'll be the first to say that it does not have to be RWD, though that is what I would want. It only needs to be FWD with a performance AWD as an available option.

Lol,funny photo. This is very interesting.I wouldnt mind getting into a 1 or 3 series fighter from caddy. Ill place my bet now that if they build a V version of the car,its going to be game over. I would say a V version would take on the M3,but doesnt the cts-v coupe go head to head with the M?What I really would like to see is a small coupe from caddy go up against the 1 series. A V version of the car against the 1M would be awesome and bring in a whole new crowd for caddilac.

The CTS is really a 5 series competitor at a 3 series price. The 3 is a more driver oriented car, it is smaller, and of course handles better.

My guess is that this car is a LONG way off. There were no dates mentioned at all and we haven't seen any spy photos of the Baby Caddy testing at the 'Ring. GM really needs to improve its product development time if its going to catch up with BMW or MB.

The Cadillac *should* be smaller. Origami looks way out of sorts when it's scaled up to the size of a car.

Test mules of the ATS have been under test for some time now. The latest mule showed dual tailpipes that indicate it was a V6 model. I'm sure The Ring will be utilised shortly.
