China Resumes Export Of Rare Earth Minerals Used In EV And Hybrid Production

China, which curtailed the export of rare-earth elements to Japan following a collision at sea between boats from both countries and later stopped shipments of the minerals to the U.S. and Europe, today allowed the shipments to resume, according to The Associated Press.

The elements are found in many modern technological devices, including superconductors, electronic polishers, and hybrid- and electric-car components (primarily batteries and magnets).

aha Yes. We're really jealous of China now.

And to those who mentioned something about China prisoning the person who won a Nobel Peace Prize: you guys have to realize that dude was crazy and violent. Here in the US, such a maniac could get the same if not worse treatment - Guantanamo Bay detention camp.

Do you have a clue what you're talking about Liu Xiaobo has a long history of non-violent protest, "crazy and violent" maybe you're refering to his protest in Tiananmen Square (which were non-voilent). He has one several human rights awards. The only thing he quilty of is trying to bring Western stlye democracy and expressing free speach in a county that is not free, in the U.S. you will never be thrown in Gitmo for that.

Do a little reseach.

I do research. aha, and I also do realize that that news get bent out of shape when they leave China. China does let you speak freely as long as you don't say that you're going to gather up people and rebel with any hint of violence. For goodness sake, here in America, we went crazy over that one Muslim lady on YouTube.

Show my your research were it say is "crazy and violent" I will show at least twenty that praises his non-violent protest. I believe a freedom fighter more than a communist regiem.

lol I don't want to leave you hanging, but I don't have time for a debate at the moment because I feel like I've spent plenty of time already - on you and others.

You can call it a win even thought it would annoy me, but at the very least, please understand that I care more for car stuff. aha

btw, I'm for freedom too; China doesn't qualify as a Communist country anymore. Also, consider the fact that our founding fathers and those locked in that sweaty room in Philadelphia that summer-fall weren't the biggest fans of popular sovereignty. And even if we think we're educated today, we still lack a knowledge of the whole picture.

Funny how I spent the time to say all that... aha

oh and I fail because I used Nobel Peace Prize holder as an example because previous winners/nominees weren't the best... such as Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and the Japanese dude who made a great speech and later invaded China.

bad examples lead to confusions, such as the one I'm in now :P

Wow you really don't do any research, none of the name you just listed won the Nobel Peace Prize (it was Time "Man of the Year"). Some of winner are Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi,
Desmond Tutu, and Mother Theresa.

Funny the Chinese government still calls it self a communist nation. It's funny you mention our founding fathers, this Nobel Peace Prize winner in jail for suggesting that China have the kind of government that they created.
