Real-world test: How Close Does the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition Get to 65 mpg?
The Diesel Driver magazine wanted to find out if it might be possible to go from Munich to Hamburg - and back - on a single tankful of fuel.

The BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition is rated at 65 mpg on the highway and 57 mpg in the EU combined cycle. As a result, the 320d EfficientDynamics Edition can go up to 1,685 km (1047 miles) with the 61-liter (16.11 gallons) fuel tank.

Find out how they did in the article, which narrates the return drive with great Autobahn footage.

Man, I would buy that car in a heartbeat. Do you hear, BMW USA? Spent over an hour cruzing over 100 MPH and still getting almost 50MPG. Wow...

I've been fortunate enough to have spent time in Europe and Asia and I find it discouraging after 25 years of continuous refinement by top car companies, we Americans are still clinging to the old images of unclean, noisy, poor performing diesel. The uneducated and uninformed images send wrong signals to the car industry and the end result is lack of much-improved, and practical, diesel models available in the US market.

the reason why that notion still exists is because "emissions" is the only metric with which hybrid fans can still call their vehicles superior by.

I really do hope BMW brings this to the US at the price point of a 328i sedan. I think it would do well. There are diesel gas stations all over Chicago with ultra low sulfur diesel. Not every state carries this, that is the other problem. I heart BMW.

Listen up, BMW. What can it hurt to add this to the line up here?? More sales?? LOL
