Volvo made the rite decision. They need to worry about a rival for Buick first.

Right decision - Yes

Volvo's market is family oriented suburbanites with "kiddie" cargo, not a 7 series competitor. Unless Volvo can offer two - three times the car of a 7 series at less than or equal to the cost of the BMW, it won't sell. At that price range, Volvo's safety image is competing directly against MB which has more prestige.

Worry about Buick - NO

Volvo is a niche automaker that is going after a completely different segment of the market than Buick.

I agree.Volvo should go no higher then a 5 series rival for now. They need to improve the bread and butter models. Making the cars more Swedish or Scandinavian is a good thing. As for sportiness I would say make the cars more go then show.Anotherwords work on improving handling and ride but don't make them "sport" flashy.
