Audi Sales Move Upwards 10% In October

Audi today sustained its 2010 momentum with record-setting October U.S. sales, which surpassed the prior October record set in 2008 by 685 vehicles. Leading into a promising fourth quarter, October 2010 sales of Audi cars and SUVs not only marked the seventh record month of 2010, but also comes on the heels of the company's all-time third quarter record in Audi U.S. sales history of more than 25,000 vehicles sold.

For October, Audi sold 8,128 vehicles, a 10.5% increase over the 7,358 vehicles sold in October 2009. Year-to-date in October 2010 Audi new sales rose more than 15% versus its prior year-to-date total of 66,876 vehicles sold. Audi also recorded a record-breaking 30% increase in its total CPO sales, as compared to the previous October.

Overall, these results continue to keep the German luxury automaker on track to set a vehicle sales record in the U.S. by year end. The existing annual sales record for Audi in the U.S. is 93,506 vehicles sold in 2007.

October 2010 Audi A3 sales not only jumped 144.9% from a year earlier as consumers continue to demand the Audi A3 TDI clean diesel, which is the reigning 2010 Green Car of the Year, but also experienced more than a 10% increase quarter-to-quarter. In addition, Audi Q5 crossover sales rose nearly 70% when compared to October 2009 and Audi Q7 sales also showed a nearly 20% rise from September 2010 with 789 vehicles sold.

Audi has enjoyed significant sales growth across all U.S. regions as October 2010 marks three consecutive record-setting months for sales.

"There is no denying that Audi is firing on all cylinders as we continue to set the pace as the benchmark for the luxury vehicle market," said Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen. "We are very pleased that consumers continue to reward Audi for its superior craftsmanship, performance and efficiency, as 2010 looks to be the best year Audi has ever enjoyed in the U.S. market."

if you read the article. It says A8 sales are low due to the pending introduction of the new 2011 A8 model.

the A8's release date is later this month. The A8 is selling well outside the USA but we will see if Audi can sell 5000 a year here at a 1500 to 2000 lease payment

Interesting the A4 continues to decrease month over month....losing market share is sorta the opposite of what it should be doing

Excuses, excuses I'll wait and see if this same story is being told next year even the A5 is starting to slow in sales mark my words sooner than later Audis 15 minutes will be gone....

Audi America did have inventory issues this year, they allocate more cars to other markets and most inventory was sold here in the US. Don't know if this specifically affects the A4, but if you look A4/A5 sales are up YTD vs last year...

Can we tag your post for next year? I'm sure I'll forget...

By your logic, BMW and MB are more boring than Audi.

I'm slow today. I never said that "exciting" didn't sell. It does. It just that Audi (like some other brands) seem to have a problem selling exciting cars. So now we have the current non-offensive audis, which to me are snoozers.
