2012 Audi A6 teased ahead of its official debut
Audi has released a teaser for the new-generation A6 vehicle that it is currently preparing to launch. With this vehicle, Audi is hoping that it will eventually gain some ground on the mid-size luxury segment which is currently dominated by the new models from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Audi’s teaser doesn’t show much as it is hiding under a sheet but it was confirmed that the new A6 will be built at the Neckarsulm site, which produces the A8, A8 L (long wheelbases version), R8 Spyder and A7 Sportback models.

Let me be the first to express how extraordinarily underwhelmed I am by a photo of a tarp-covered car, and the accompanying story. Somebody please give me a nudge when some actual news shows up.

This tarp looks exactly like the tarp for the A4, only smaller.

Eh, larger, I mean.

I submitted a story a few weeks back related to the recall issue that BMW was having with the Twin Turbo engine HPF pumps. Apparently BMW has bought back some of the vehicles from owners under the Lemon Law and resold them to Certified Pre-Owned customers without the proper classification that the car was purchased back under the Lemon Law. Apparently that story was REJECTED... and now I see something like this. I'm done with this site!

...Out of all the sh*t I submit and this is "news"??? Im going outside to photograph my car with a sheet thrown over it and post it for the hell of it and call it a tease of something to see what happens. All I see here is another Audi grille and LED front lamps. Oooh! The suspense is killing me! As a matter of fact, it killed my internet connection. Im logging off...

*rolls eyes*

obviously, you are the furthest thing from an audi fan. since 97 the A6 and A4 never looked alike.

And "Sportbike" what's your point. I own a 2010 BMW 335d and a new 2011 Audi A4 I got for my wife. Do you not think that BMW cars don't have that "common design" thread or front/rear look in their car lineup. Of course they do. You will also begin to see the "change" in the new models coming out that will carry the similarities from their new 5 series over the entire lineup. We're seeing this already in the spy photos fro the upcoming 2012 cars. There nothing wrong with this theory. I'm sure it saves on cost and production. I like the design Audi has put out. Let's not forget that gaft BMW pulled with their 7 series rear trunk line a few years back. Each vehicle offers it's own drivng experience and fun.

sportsbike80 - so what if a brand decides to make their cars resemble? most of the time kids from the same parents resemble. bmw cars, right now, all look alike (strong presumption that you are a bmw fan), 3 series, 5 series and 7 all look alike in different sizes.

Didn't expect the reveal to be this year.

Hint, there is a part of the vehicle design that we decided to tone down (hey, big mouth) Other than that, we have added a few more led lights in time for Christmas shopping!

...for those who are not considering an actual tree! Lawn ornaments are of course optional on the hood!

I suspect that this new A6 will be an A7 with a taller roof and without the hatchback. It will be interesting to see if the A6 retains the A7's good looks while offering more head room.
