Is 556 Horsepower Going To Be Enough To Persuade You To Add The CTS-V Coupe To Your Stable?
Let’s say you really like your job. It pays well, the commute isn’t too long, you like the people you work with, the company is stable, you have a supportive boss, and you’re doing meaningful work. If I told you that you could have the same job, but with 82 percent more pay, would you take it?
What if that 82 percent pay raise required another six years of education and some professional certification, and carried a higher tax bracket? Would you still take that job – which would have all of the good stuff your current job has, but more money?

The CTSV coupe is stunning in person but im still confused as to why their isnt a mid point between the CTSV and the 300hp CTS. IT just doesnt make sense. The V6 CTS is only adequate in performance and the V is incredibly powerful. Why not give the CTS a turbo 6, a non supercharged V8 from the vette or Camaro, a supercharged 6 something. You kinda have pick the car thats cost as much but is alot slower than the competition or the one thats probably more car than most people want...

Yes, I would prefer the higher education.

I agree with bmwdrvr, I've always thought their should be a middle ground version of the CTS with more performance and handling than the base model, but a little lighter on the pocketbook than the V.
I've seen these in person and they are simply stunning. A real revelation for Cadillac and the American car maker. Not too long ago Cadillac was a mattress on wheels. I for one am excited this car exists.

I would love to own this Caddillac CTS-V Not only because it is more powerful and it's stunning, especially, the coupe version. This website crack me up, the European auto fans hate us American when we get something right.
The last time I remember, BMW, Audi and MB do Not have a Sedan that can beat this Cadillac CTS-S Sedan yet. Give credit where credit deserve. Porsche make some of the best sport car in the world, BMW, make the best handling car out there, Audi all is almost there but their interior is way better than BMW. And MB give you the best of both world with their AMG package.
Lexus, Infiniti and Acura give you all of the above but with better reliability and refining. And the American can prove to the world that they can make an Awesome performance cars with a an interior to match as well.

lol...did you really just say those 3 Japanese Brands offer More refinement than the Germans. That statement is wrong on so many levels, Infiniti is still figuring out how to make "luxury car interiors" and luxury cars for that matter (tuner aftermarket sounding exhausts isnt refinement) its 2011 and they are just getting close to doing that with the M. Acura interiors have enough buttons and fake aluminum, and acres of fake wood veneer along with their transmission issues and cheap plastics, oh and is it 2001 5 speed Automatics really??. Lexus vehicles are certainly quiet but refinement is more than just a quiet interior, steering like an 85 Buick, and enough shiny plastics to build a dollhouse....

No. Just as 638hp in the Corvette didn't convince me to buy that car either.

Cadillac was never or will ever be my STYLE so it could have a thousand horsepower and I wouldn't buy one. Doesn't mean it isn't a good car. That's why we have 67 flavors of ice cream.

when I said "refinement" I meant it interior design so much of the performance aspect except the Nissan GT-R and the Lexus LF-A.

It doesn't matter how much horsepower, I'd still have to clean up the vomit up off my garage floor from every time I looked at it. With the trunk open it could be confused with a dumpster.

@bmwdvr,
give me a break dude. Have you ever driven and sit in the new G37 coupe/sedan and M37/M56 Sedan? Please sit in one and test drove and tell me you don't it interior better than BMW and if not on par with Audi. Unlike you, I like to give credit where credit deserve no matter what country make them.

I must say to me the BMW interiors in the competing models are btter.
Infiniti's remind me of knockoff watches.
M-Series interior is ok but nav screen (there's isn't even widescreen yet), leather quality, etc. is no where close to new 5-Series.
Not saying they are not nice cars but still not BMW's.
And don't get me started on new M exterior...Hideous, bulbus maximus

Infiniti does much better interiors than BMW. They are more along Audi's interior, which are always good.

Ugh! I dislike the CTS-V now having driven a sedan version for 3 weeks. The interior materials are aweful, the switchgear is cheap feeling and poorly placed. The transmission is sluggish, if you live in a city with some camber to the roads for rain, you'll never be able to keep the doors open as you exit parallel parking spots, the seats are flat with no support, the trunk doesn't even have a button to open it from the rear (you MUST use the key fob, what gives?!?). Handling is great, brakes are great, looks cool, lots of power. I wanted to love this car but now I don't. Fantastic step forward by Caddy but still not the German conquering machine that arm chair test pilots claim it to be. Give me a slower M3 or C63 any day.
