Jeremy Clarkson picks his favorite cars...Did he pick the right ones?

What does the X mean on the BMW X5, or the Q on Audi’s Q7? No one knows. Some people still maintain lettering has a point. Mercedes’ CLS apparently means coupé, light and sporty. Whereas SLK means sporty, light and, er, something else.

It was so much clearer in the past. GL was Grand Luxe, whereas GT stood for Grand Tourer. And L meant you weren’t very good at your job. But then along came the E. So now we had the GLE, which was a Grand Luxe sprinkled with Executive dust. So think of it as a car with real vinyl seats and a Newton’s Cradle on the dashboard.

I agree with gert123456. Clarkson contradicts himself so much so I never believe a word that comes from his mouth. Four months ago he was bashing the M5 on Top Gear. Now he gives it the thumbs up. Why now and not then, he's and idiot. The M5 should have received the thumbs up from day one, and he knows it. Not to disrespect Lexus, but I would have slotted the Audi A8 before the Lexus. The A8 is a Magnificat machine. There are many writers who praise this executive car for it's handling and performance.

But I agree with the supercars category.
