What Does A TESLA With 40k Miles Say To You?

What Does A TESLA With 40k Miles Say To You?
Oh-kay, so probably the biggest set back with electric vehicles is that they are limited by their range. And, charging them takes a pretty damn long time.

With that said, a green publication is reporting that a Tesla adapter in Germany has been able to get 40,000 miles in one year of owning his Tesla. Clearly, charging must not be as hard as we all thought. Or is it?

According to the subject of the story, he says that there are outlets everywhere and that charging isn't as bad as it's made out to be.

With that said, is the current infrastructure we have good enough to handle electric cars OR should their be an added investment to get more charging stations on the road?

Hansjorg von Gemmingen drives his electric blue car almost every day and can't imagine going back to a gas-powered vehicle any time soon.

The massive number of miles accumulated by von Gemmingen defies the common perception that electric vehicles aren't reliable, and can only be used close to their home charging station...

Charging stations in EU are getting more and more accessible. Sadly, the US has a lot of catching up to do for EVs in terms of charging stations and consumer confidence.

The article really says nothing about Hansjorg von Gemmingen & the fact that he may have a greater accessibility to available power outlets than the average person. He likely made the decision to purchase a Tesla by first determining if there would be charging stations/outlets where he normally parks his car each day or at each location he'd travel to. Or he drives slow enough to only need a fully-charged Tesla every 1-2 days or so.

I wonder how much he's paid to consume so much electricity for his Tesla throughout the year? There has been greater discussions about new & future charging stations in metro areas in the US --- but not much talk about the expected usage rates to actually use these "convenient" devices.
