I though the CL was always the most timeless and elegant in the Mercedes-Benz range.

It was perfectly proportioned and a true gentleman's coupe, but on the flip-side, it became a beautiful but beastly CL65, an elegant coupe with mountain-moving grunt.

No, it might not be curvaceous and extravagant, but nevertheless it is a fine design study in elegant form and simplicity.
