Infiniti Going To Challege Entry-Level Premium Segment With 3-Dr?

Infiniti Going To Challege Entry-Level Premium Segment With 3-Dr?
I suppose it was only a matter of time before Infiniti decided to step into the ring and slug it out with other entry-level premium cars. You know the cars derided because they're the "a poor man's [company x]."

Autocar reports that the brand is working on a car for the Geneva Motor Show that will square up with the Mercedes-Benz CLC. That would mean it would rival the Audi A3, BMW 1-Series, Lexus CT200h and the MINI Cooper.

Of course this means the spies have some questions:

1) Would it be wise to leverage technology used in the Nissan Leaf and create an entry-level premium Infiniti "Leaf?"

2) Should it be a hatch or a coupe/sedan?

3) Would you want this car to lean towards the luxurious side or have more sporting credentials?

Infiniti’s small car project is on track to be previewed by a concept at next spring’s Geneva motor show, according to well placed sources.

Nissan’s luxury division is said to be preparing a style-led three-door, possibly mixing coupé cues with a measure of hatchback practicality in the same manner as Mercedes’ soon-to-be-discontinued CLC. It’s likely to be based on a front-drive platform sourced from the next-gen A-class as part of a tie-up between Daimler and the Renault-Nissan alliance....

If the production version looks like that the competition better do something fast.

Very bold and dramatic something! Something Hyundai has been trying to do lately but just looks goofy

@BlackDynamite

Considering there are no renderings or concepts, Autocar probably figured this is the most stylish coupe Infiniti has ever made.

I followed their lead.

If Honda allows Acura to go on its own styling for TL and ZDX, Nissan should also allow Infiniti to come up w/ its own design. I hate to see those Japanese-conservative styling on Infiniti. A different shell isn't that expensive. Tell Carlos Gosen to shut up!
