Chrysler’s reworked vehicles impressed everyone, from analysts to critics
Auto critics and analysts were very impressed with Chrysler’s overhauled model lineup.

Last week, tests were done on eight new models, which have shown much improvement over the models they’re replacing. In the second half of 2010, 16 new or significantly upgraded models from Chrysler Group's Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands were set to be introduced. Of these, many are expected to arrive in showrooms in the next few weeks.

I don't know the accuracy of the reported "everyone" who are impressed, but it's a great move that Chrysler is gaining respected in the auto industry. I tip my hat, respectfully.

If you go to the many automotive websites out there, all of them are pretty much saying the same thing about Chryslers refreshed vehicles. Some of them have even gotten their hands on and reviewed the 200 already. (the verdict is positive, btw)

Fundementally-The bones of the Sebring/Avenger where OK. The problem was that Chrysler skimped on the details previously that would make them competative. The platform is the same but tweeked for better ride and handling. The greenhouse and the doors are the same for both vehicles(and the whole car on the outside is the same for the Avenger). The front and rear end exterior styling on the Sebring/200 is much improved and more attractive. Interiors on both cars is much better in terms of perceived quality. The V6 engine is now more then class competative. So bottom line are cars that can now compete with Camry,Accord,Fusion,Malibu. The Charger is to me dramatically improved and really offers somthing that none of its competators can offer in it's price range.RWD. There is nothing wrong with improving the breed.
Porsche has been doing this with the 911 for years. Now the test is what the reliability is. If that is improved then Chrysler has a potentially winning formula and should dramatically increase sales over what it is already doing.

It would be great to see Chrysler become viable again. It seems they are always rising up from the ashes, Phoenix-style. It would be good to see them become successful and break that insane cycle of doing well, then bombing, then doing well, then bombing again.

Even though Daimler wont admit it, you can clearly see how they were starving Chrylser of resources. With the success of the Ram, Jeep brand, 300, Charger, and Challenger there was no way they should have been in that bad of a shape.

If Daimler raped Chrysler, than Chrysler gave Daimler herpes in the process. That merger was lose-lose.

Just remember, it's always easy to take a piece of junk and make it better without making it good...a turd dressed up is still a turd nonetheless..
