2010 LA AUTO SHOW: Is The Evoque The HOTTEST Range Rover Ever Built?
So, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor isn't sounding so bad now, is it? Something tells me that once you get a good look at the latest Range Rover Evoque that it will be pretty hard to deny that this sport-utility vehicle isn't special.
I mean, just look at that interior. The different textures and the race-inspired seats, all very cool. The Evoque's interior manages to maintain a rugged feel while still being luxurious enough that it doesn't seem unrefined.
Although four-cylinder engines never sound appealing, keep in mind that the Evoque is suppose to have 240 horsepower and weigh in around the 3,600 pound mark. 60 mph is allegedly reasonably quick at approximately seven seconds, that's not all that bad.
Have your thoughts on the Evoque changed now that you've gotten a good look and it has appeared as a five-door SUV?

I think the current range rover captures the essence of Range rover design better than any other

This looks great, but like most Range Rovers, it's going to seriously dated in about five to seven years.

The Evoque does share a similar shape, from profile shots, looks very close to the Kia Sportage. I'm not saying that the vehicles are directly comparable, but I'm sure they will be cross-shopped.

Looks very nice but isn't Range Rover also supposed to be very good offroader and rugged/muscular looking. This looks like a fashion item something like what Seat, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot..etc would make.

If I were in the market for an SUV, although I am not a fan of Land/Range Rovers, this would be my 1st choice for a new SUV.
Sweeeeeeet!!!

I love this vehicle too but I think the only reason it was tagged with the Range Rover's name was so they could charge a premium for it. It should have been just Land Rover Evoque or LR3 (between the LR2 and LR4).

Exactly. How many versions of a model can you make. You don't see 3 totally different vehicles being called navigator. Land Rover evoque Is what it should be called. And change the LR4 back to Discovery series 4 like it should be. Change the LR2 back to freelander. With all of these different mdels it makes it even easier for people to think Range Rover is a brand not a model. I can't stand it when people say "I'd rather have a Range Rover than a Land Rover. IDIOT! Thats like Saying I'd rather have an Escalade than a Cadillac. Land Rover is the Brand, Range Rover is the model, as Ford is the brand, Expedition is the model.

@85bmw745i: Rotflmao!!! A co-worker drove one to work and I told her it was a nice Land Rover she had and she said, "No, its a Range Rover and its my husbands." I said to myself, "Dumbass"... Funny you mentioned that because I hear that A LOT!!!

Absolute rubbish, the Range Rover is supposed to be the top of the line Land Rover, this thing looks like a mini cooper had sex with an LR2. And how are you supposed to see out of that thing with those tiny windows?

The rear cargo area has lost most of it's usefulness with that roofline.
