2010 LA AUTO SHOW: Nissan Drops The Top On The Murano CrossCabriolet

2010 LA AUTO SHOW: Nissan Drops The Top On The Murano CrossCabriolet
The car that most people thought would look like a bigger trainwreck in Los Angeles than Lindsay Lohan was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. The automotive press only knew Nissan was going to chop the top off.

No one knew if that meant that there would be two doors, four doors or a gigantic roll bar. Whatever it would be, I am pretty sure not one single person expected this. A Nissan Murano trying desperately to be a 370Z Roadster with two extra seats that are functional.

That's the thing though, no one can figure out who was asking for this.

But if it has more space and room for your gear, this may just be the most practical convertible yet. If that's the case, you can bet other automakers will soon follow Nissan's lead.

Hell, even Audi had a similar concept way back in 2007. Nissan just took the ball and didn't look back!

I like this. It is fresh and fun looking. to say the least, there's nothing else like it out there.

Another website reporting the price at a WHOOPING $46,390, $890 more than a BMW 328i convert. Yeah there is a hard choice to make.

That is correct, $46,390.

I do not like the front or it with the top up.

I dont think this competes with a 328 convertible - at all.

At that price I would select many other alternatives to this (none of it will compete)

$46K?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....inhale.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I know each person has their own view of what is beautiful (and I am a Nismo owner so I don't hate nissan) but this thing is a monstrosity. Other than the head on view I dare anyone to find another pretty view of this car. Not the side view...cause nothing says cool like a jacked up streched out vw bug. Not the rear view because lets face it, its ugly. Especially the bums on the cover.

Overall a bad design concept. All Nissan appears to want to answer here is the question...who wants a $46,000 PT cruiser convertable?

I also like it. When i heard about it I was expecting Murano Cabrio to look very ugly and funny but it doesn't look bad at all. Looks very unique and an innovative idea.
I am sure this would become very popular here in Dubai and will seriously dent the Beetle Cabrio sales which is also very popular here.

I think it's better to do this then what BMW did with the X6 coupe.Should sell well in LA.
