30mpg highway is lower than I'd have expected, the non-hybrid 535i already gets that. I assume the city mileage is greatly improved? They didn't mention the city estimate in the article, but that's where hybrids typically get their big gains.

The 535i only has 300hp while the M35h has 360hp. Fuel economy is only part of the equation for a performance hybrid.

Yes but the hybrid stuff costs extra and also adds weight, which negatively affects fuel economy, acceleration, and handling. I saw on another site that Nissan thinks the car will get 25 city and 30 highway. Frankly I don't see how you could look at those figures and not be disappointed. The regular M37 will accelerate similarly, handle better, get fuel economy within a couple mpg's of that, AND cost a lot less. Sort of negates any benefit to the hybrid, other than that "look at me, I'm green and saving the earth" smugness that comes standard with hybrid models.

M37 is EPA rated at 18 city and 26 highway. I don't see how these numbers are within a couple of MPGs of the estimated 25 city and 30 highway of the M35h.

I gues beauty reallys in the eyes of the beholder. The same people that cruxfy te TL praise the M. Design wise the TL is miles ahead of the M. The rear of the M s awful and looks like it was not desined for the car, so many Acura BS haters............

I agree the TL is miles ahead of the M ... in the fugly department that is!

I think the last generation TL look really good but the current generation is FUGLY with pointed peak. And the front look like it wearing several shade/sunglasses on top of each other. The last generation peak was more subtle.

And yes, I also agree with you that the new Infiniti M37 and M56 rear do Not look as good as the front and side. But overall design both interior and exterior design the Infiniti M37 and M56 blow the Acura TL out of the water.
