Porsche confirms smaller SUV and a sports car to increase sales
As part of Porsche’s goal to double global sales within three years, it may develop a small SUV and a sports car smaller than the Boxster. According to Bernhard Maier, head of sales and marketing at Porsche AG, the company wants to look into smaller and less expensive models but he clarified that no decision has been made.

Maier said that the small SUV has been code-named “Cajun,” which is short for Cayenne Jr. He added that because of the Cayenne SUV’s success, Porsche became more confident to consider “other opportunities.”

What are these guys doing to this brand? The VAG has a lot of large volume selling brands like AUDI! To think that they want to buy Ferrari is a very scary thought, and you might be see a Ferrari SUV with a 2 litre FSI engine!

Porsche is chasing Q5, X3 sales.
Next would be Porsche making Panamera Junior codenamed Pajun to increase sales.

How many times will this story be posted? I've seen it at least 2X if not 3.
Also, the 2nd paragraph says that no decision has been made. Make up your minds.

i'd happily welcome a sporty car in all shapes and sizes + formats.

as long as they are developed properly to the standards what Porsche stands for I don't care. 911's do nothing for me. Racing does nothing for me. when I want a sporty SUV with a MANUAL, the V6 Cayenne is one of the only options left.

in a few years time, a Cajun may be your only choice of a small SUV in a manual with real sporting performance.

ULTIMATE daily performance may be what Porsche stood for with their 911, but it's JUST a CAR and just a mindset to develop cars that meet this need in the market.

One should thank VAG for rescuing Porsche otherwise you would have nothing to complain about. Let Porsche build their volume cars so enthusiasts can get the real Porsches which these volume cars finance. That's is why it is important for Porsche to maintain profibility and viability through some form of mass market niches.

The Cayenne is a huge success and big moneymaker for Porsche, despite the establishment of the X5 and ML, so there's clearly room for another premium player in this smaller niche.

The X3 is actually not very luxurious, though sporty. I imagine it as a Q5 on steroids.

JUGNU-I think your profecy is correct. I strongly beleive there will be a junior Panamera to eventually take on the 3 series, C Class and A4.I'll bet it will be built off a Cajun platform perhaps or a greatly shortened Panamera platform. It's only a matter of time.People complain about the brand being diluted. However Porsche will never change the basic shape of the 911 so there has to be room for others to enjoy other Porsche's.And how many record breaking variants are there of the 911 anyway. Pretty soon there will be a 911 pickup.
