Who's Behind The PUSH For Electric Cars?
When it comes to business, typically there are some winners and a whole lot of losers. That's just the way the cookie crumbles. But if you've been following the business of electric cars, it may not have been clear who is going to make out if EVs become the next big thing.

Thanks to FOX, we've got some clarity on the situation.

Can YOU think of anyone else who's going to benefit from electric cars?

What would happen if we all drove electric cars? That’s the burning question automakers have been asking for the past year. Companies like GM, Nissan, BMW, and Ford are keenly interested in seeing whether this emerging niche market can eventually replace the century-old internal combustion engine.

Yet, there’s another “special interest group” that’s salivating at the idea of widespread EV adoption. Power companies like NRG Energy, Xcel Energy and California’s PG&E would see sky-rocketing power usage if we all started “fueling up” in the garage...

Hey folks, we don't need a conspiracy theory for this gig. Just a bunch of well-intentioned (though uninformed) politicians, some manufacturers who see a market they can exploit, and some consumers who believe they're saving the planet with hybrids and EVs. Presto! Status quo.

Just as a data point, The United States of America gets the majority of its imported oil from a little country known as Canada. Those damned Canadian extremists are always at it, for one reason or another, eh? ;-)

Steve do you have a link to bag this up?

You don't need one your right but Saudi Arabia is a very close second of the 5 to 10 countries we import oil from. Proving my point.

There is a small group of potential Volt owners who are already gearing up for ownership by setting up solar panels to trickle charge their cars overnight, keeping things as far off the grid as possible. That's the route I would go for sure. Who is behind the push? People like me who really don't care what the car itself costs, as long as we see a way to stop putting money in OIL COMPANY pockets. Be these comapnies Arabian, Venezuelan, Nigerian, Canadian, or American. They are all in this together. If western oil companies are so pro-American how come they sell oil at the same prices as OPEC, which is full of anti-American countries? THAT'S the question that needs to be asked. I'm just waiting for GM to get the diesel-engined Volt to market and then it will be bio-diesel and solar power running my Volt for sure. Down with the oil rig!

The thought of trickle charging cars overnight with solar panels made me smirk.
