2011 Jeep Patriot to receive a new diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz
Jeep’s medium-sized SUV, the Patriot, will receive a few changes to its engine options and trim levels.

The 2011 Patriot will be equipped with a new diesel powerplant, which offers improved fuel efficiency and greater torque. Mercedes-Benz will provide the new 2,200 cc CRD, which replaces the unit borrowed from Volkswagen’s 2.0 TDi. As a result of the modifications, the SUV now has 163 hp and a considerably wider spread of torque offered from lower RPM.

How about the Pentastar V6 and a true JEEP 4WD system. The Liberty has gotten to big as of late and the Patriot is really the only thing close enough to the original Cherokee in both looks and size.
