SPY PHOTO: Audi puts in overdrive on Q5 development-Part two

Audi is also making a new compact SUV to take its place below the Q7 in the company’s model range. Dubbed Q5, it is sitting on a platform featuring elements from the next A4 and A6. In order to be able to use also the important V 8 power plants which are essential for the US market, the engines in this SUV will be mounted lengthwise, not transversely. The Q 5 is expected to debut at the beginning of 2008.

I bet it will be pretty sporty with a 350 hp V8. As this one should be around 4,000 pounds. Heavy, but not to bad with the 350 or more hp V8.

I really like the Q7, but being a little out of my range right now (price and size)...I would welcome this smaller version.

I like 001Buster would like to see a high output V6 in it and not the V8. It will be too heavy and even with a S-Line (pitcure above) or dare I say it, S5 the V6 would do just fine.

One please. Blue maybe.
