Are VW owners rightly stereotyped?

VW has just launched an ad camapign that features little vignettes that work off typical stereotyping of VW drivers (in a humorous way of course).

They also have a companion website where you can compare yourself to typical VW drivers.

The goal is to let you know that VW owners are cool because they own kayaks, etc.

See how you stack up here

Oh Sunny that hurt! I see you are slumming already.

FYI for the record everyone drive like a maniac around here.

Green = GO as fast as you can
Yellow = Hit the gas
Red= 4 more cars can go.

Pedestrians cross at your own risk.

that is a vehicle brand that is stereotyped. My personal one is A) females (which are typically good looking), or B) "alternative" males in their 20's.

It's so sad when owners of a particular make of car live down to the negative stereotypes about them.

According to the Volkswagen website, higher percentages of Volkswagen owners "go comanche" (i.e., they don't wear underwear) than owners of other makes of cars, which is entirely too much information.
However, it has been my observation that higher percentages of Volkswagen owners are "neurotic" than owners of other makes of cars. They also seem to spend more time complaining about their cars breaking down than owners of other cars.
