VW adds LED headlights to new Golf
Volkswagen has rolled out a new set of LED headlights for the sixth generation Golf. It will now be lit up by LEDs both at the rear and at the front. VW has done a terrific job at designing the new generation Golf last year but it had chosen to cut a few corners. That is why fans were disappointed when the new generation Golf came out more as a facelifted version. These new headlamps, which are offered as options for the model, are priced at EUR1,310 ($1,750) for a pair.

seriously? An LED headlight option for $1750? Who is going to add nearly ten percent cost to a golf to add these? I can understand an LED strip for day time running lights, but not a full on LED headlight option like that offered on the Audi A8... I typically splurge on high tech items like this, but that's just too much money and seems out of place on this type of vehicle... good luck selling those VW salesmen

And Like i said in a previous post, I have seen GTIs and GTDs specced up to over £30,000 { My friend has one}

They are actually nicer to drive or be in than A3s.

Wow... this is just like how Toyota wants to distinguish Lexus hybrid exteriors by adding unique badging and tinted lights, and then they do the same with the Toyota hybrids...

As I said yesterday, I would take a GTI loaded over an A3 any day. The A3 is in my opinion sub-par to the current Golf/GTI available in the U.S. and is lacking many desired options. Enthusiasts who enjoy hatchbacks and wagons are a different breed than your mainstream sedan buyers. Therefore demands are slightly different, so getting combos like TDI AWD and a manual in any particular configuration that appeals to many. Also the lack of the S3 or RS3 shows their lack of attention.

I'm 30 and would like to be able to move up in the car world to something in a hatch form and not have to be stuck with choices limited to another Matrix, Mazda 3, etc. I've priced a Golf TDI 4 door but it's still missing AWD.
