Mercedes-Benz to revamp dealership sales procedures next year
Mercedes-Benz seeks to change dealership sales procedures in 2011. The company is now prepping for a wave of new front-wheel-drive vehicles and new young buyers.

Beginning in 2012, Mercedes will launch three U.S. FWD vehicles. At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz USA's CEO Ernst Lieb says it will ensure the processes and how it presents the cars and how they deliver is right. Changes are to take effect in 2012. Mercedes has agreed with its dealer council on handling the review.

I just bought a new E550 about 3 weeks ago and they need to revamp their dealership sales procedures. I had one salesman basically tell me that black people were too poor to buy Mercedes Benzes (while I was in the process of buying my 4th one), another just refused to work on price with me, they all lied to me about how many E550 Cabrio's were in the state and at the dealership where I finally bought the car I had a finance manager attempt to beat me on the financing. If i didn't really want the car I would have just kept the one I had.

@ Tauron B2G

Saw your post. You don't have to mention the name of the dealership (unless you want to). But where is it located?

Went to MB of St.Charles, MB of Westmont, MB of Orland Park, Loeber, MB of Merrilville Indiana & MB of Chicago. Even called down to Isringhausen in Springfield, at least they were nice and offered to bring me a car and match the 1st price I got. Ended up going with the dealer who discounted the car 5k. But they all said that there are only 2 cars in the state...meanwhile I'd found about 7. They all pushed me on the 350 even though I specifically asked for the 550 and was trading a 500 in. As far as the black people comment...I will just say that it was one of the dealerships in the western suburbs.

Wanted to show my handicapped wife who has trouble entering smaller cars a new S Class in the winter. I made an appointment at the local Mercedes dealer in advance, helped my wife on with her braces and drove
to the dealer in the snow. When I got there the dealer said that no appointment was made even though I had an email confirmation in hand and that no one was available to show my wife a car. This was to be my fifth Mercedes purchase at the dealership. Instead I drove right to BMW
and bought her a new BMW that day. Can you imagine what MB service is going to like when a young kids on leases hold up $100k+ purchasers waiting to check in or out. Based on my experience I will never buy another MB again.

I notice that a lot of complaints revolve around metro California areas or other places where, how do I say it, "Flash" matters. Over here in Denver, MB of Westminster is WONDERFUL. They are super nice, very knowledgeable, not pushy and extremely helpful. Then again, here in Colorado, "Flash" is typically looked down upon. This is the type of town where millionaires drive Jeeps and dont lease BMW 3 series for their high school kids.
