Stud Or Dud? 2012 Audi A6 Shots Leak Out

Stud Or Dud? 2012 Audi A6 Shots Leak Out
It is pretty obvious that Audi is on a roll lately, however the bulk of their sales here is at the lower end of the spectrum.

So does these new shots of the 2012 A6 bring something new to the table, or is it more of the same old thing.  Can Audi finally kick up the volume with the new A6, or will they barely be able to keep up with the competition.

Scan the shots and let us know what you think, and remember full details will start being released tomorrow!

Are you sure that's not the A4, er wait I mean the A8, ummm, I guess it could be the A6.

Front looks like a Mitsubishi Evolution X

I'm in the minority here but I like the design direction Audi is taking. There is a strong family resemblance in the entire lineup and I am one of those people who likes this feature in a brand.

The new A6 looks more dynamic and sporty than the somewhat bland current model. The interior looks really good, but I need to see it in real life first before making my final decision.

I'm happy with my W203 C230 V6, but if I like the new Audi A6 I think I might upgrade...

Looks very close to the A7 minus the A7's rear roof-line.

Its not bad looking, but it looks very bland. The E class and 5 series have more character, and look just has good if not better.

LOL! Looks like an updated A4.

Great interior, but the exterior is just kind of meh.... it's a good update and needed but it's just nothing special on the outside. the A4 A5 A6 A8 are all just looking too alike, sure the 3 5 7 series look alike but not this close. I just wish they would have just been a little more creative with the exterior but I like it overall

Agreed, nice interior, exterior is ok.. a nice evolution (no pun intended.. front end does resemble) I suppose.

The only stud I see is the guy sitting in the passenger seat!

The car is just boring. Audi's ho hum styling of late has reduced my passion for the brand. Still impeccably engineered, they really need to clean slate with their design language.

I'm not liking the Mistubish Evo-like angularity. Interior looks a little bland. A front 3/4 view would help a lot. So far, I'm not smiling. And I'm a guy who likes some of today's Audis.

I like the interior styling as it's basically the same as the A7. In fact I like it better then the A8 because the interior console is ladeled with multiple buttons. I especially like the wood accents as in A7. Exterior wise Audi has simply not broken any new ground. As previously stated it could be an A4 or an A8. There is simply not enough styling diversification between the models. Frankly the shape is a very conservative 3 box design. Both BMW and Mercedes do have a similar corporate face but both are more diversified in their styling then Audi. It's interesting how Audi saves the real styling for their coup models or hatchbacks. The R8 is very pretty but it seems like the've kind of given up as far as styling a sedan now. All in all a safe but boring design.

I like it. Beautiful actually. Too bad Audi's dynamically cannot compete with BMW or Porsche. So I wouldn't buy one.

Best looking A6 made by Audi yet.

Agressive and subtle at the same time and the wheels are spot on....

Would someone wake-up the exterior designers at Audi. The designs aren't really evolving. What was once a pure and simple design concept now feels like I'm watching an instant replay for the tenth time.

The interior designers, however, should be given a big raise. Gorgeous and truly unique!

folks this is just not aggressive enough to match the marque of E-Class or even the 5 series. There is just the usual delicate fancy touch on the detail of the headlights and the rear lights but nothing on the overall shape of the car to suggest the depth of Audi designers. Audi is afraid of taking risks with the current shape of its models which has achieved success but this will backfire as consumers will lose interest.look at the mercedes benz's new CLS it shows the magnitude of risk taken by merc to change the outgoing CLS which was successful. Audi and Bmw should start taking risks ,we need to see and appreciate the creativity of their designers.

I personally don't think the shape of the E class is very interesting. And the new CLS design is overwrought and in my opinion unattractive. It is very much in the same vein as the new Hyundai Sonata. It gets your attention because it is so overdone but it will not stand the test of time just like the wide lapels and bell bottoms of the 80's. Audi's designs are modern and understated. They will not appeal to everyone but will look just as modern 5 years down the road. I look at the outgoing Audi A8 (D3 platform) today and it still looks very relevant in today's marketplace even though I thought it was kind of plain when was introduced in 2004.
