Lexus Says It Won't Repeat HS Flop, Targets CT 200h Sales At 1,000 Units A Month

Lexus Says It Won't Repeat HS Flop, Targets CT 200h Sales At 1,000 Units A Month
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc.’s Lexus luxury brand believes it can sell 1,000 all-new CT 200h hybrid-electric compact hatchbacks each month.

That’s a lofty goal considering the competitors: the Volvo C30, Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series, which account for about 1,500-unit sales a month in the U.S.

shouldn't be hard to achieve 1000 a month, considering that the mazda 3 that it looks like sells several times that.

looks and price are two different buying factors.

unfortunately, this subcompact is double the price of the appropriately priced, sprightly mazda 3.

If they don't offer another version that is either non-hybrid with a decent 4 and/or a stick, then it won't sell.

You want a younger crowd, then offer something we can find appealing, the exterior and interior look good, now just work on the driving and performance.

Should be popular with tech savy young people. The Lexus service and quality will keep them loyal to the brand......

service at the dealer doesn't matter nearly as much to young people as it does to they typical 55 year old lexus buyer. we don't need a cushy sofa and a latte, just service the car.

the A3, 1-series and volvo c30 sell a COMBINED 1500 units a month. and lexus is going to sell 1,000 a month of these cars? and with painfully slow, rough riding, expensive car that only short people can fit it?

as with the HS, they'll kept reducing their targets and still won't meet their sales numbers.

And don't even throw the 1-series in there, because no hatch is available for the US market.

true...the 1-series isn't really in the segment. plus it's notably more expensive. yet they're managing to move 1,000 month.

Just wait and see. You are the same genius who said the redesign RX350 wouldn't sell. It's on its way to 90,000 units this year. I know how to pick a winner if enthusiastx11 say's it's no good it's guaranteed to be a hit......LOL
