Federal probe on Toyota’s unintended acceleration cases still ongoing

The results of the investigation on the unintended acceleration cases that Toyota Motor Corp. has been involved in were supposed to be released this fall in the US but we’ve now learned that the probe has yet to be completed. National Highway Traffic Safety Administrator David Strickland told reporters in Washington that the review initiated by two US agencies is ongoing and that they still have to “tie up loose ends.”

So far, it *appears* that the evidence is pointing in the direction of the conclusions for the Audi unintended acceleration fiasco: "pedal misapplication" (AKA driver error). I, for one, am very much looking forward to getting closure on this tedious item. We may get fewer articles her on Autospies, but I think it will be worth it.
