Rumor Mill: 465HP 2013 Lexus GS F To Be Priced Between $90,000 And $100,000
Lexus has recently introduced the F line to the U.S. public in the form of the IS F, but now the company intends to make the brand flourish by adding a number of new models to the line. The big one that’s reportedly waiting in the wings is the GS F.
The GS F will represent the highest-performance trim level in a line that consist of the GS 350, GS 460 and GS 450h. What will set the GS F apart from the others will be its engine. Our sources tell us that it will come with a 5.0-liter V-8 that will produce about 465 bhp.

The GS design is stale and giving it the F treatment doesn't change that.

The new one will be out spring 2012. Look for it to make the auto shows after the first of the year.

I almost spit my coffee out when I saw the price. But I will reserve judgement until I'll see it and the numbers it posts. They didn't do too badly with the LF-A, or the IS-F.

The GS-F will be producing 465hp while the E63 is pumping out 500+ and the new M5 is expected to be churning out at least 550. Talk about coming to a gunfight with a knife.

The people in here making the argument that you need more HP to be great are wrong. Cars these days are so much more than just HP alone. Weight is an issue that is very real especially in the GS; add 100+ HP and cut the weight buy 500 pounds and I guarantee you that car will be in the very low 4's. Lexus is looking to be more efficient, not who has the smallest dick....

well, that would have been competitive with the previous generations of the competition I guess. For $100k though Toyota probably should've aimed higher than "competitive with the previous generations of their competition".

As much as I love Lexus and it IS350, GS and the LF-A, if this is true that they will make the GS-F with only 465 hp and want $90,000 to $100,000 then their company deserve to fail. If you do a half a$$ job, you will a half a$$ back. You get what you put into it. Why not give it the Lexus LF-A and give it the same horsepower? It not like it going to rival the LF-A because it probably going to be heavier.
They could've give the current Lexus IS-F 465 hp but for some reason they give it 420 hp instead, talk about all that hype for nothing. The MB E-63 have 500+ and the next BMW M5 is going at 550 hp and Lexus want to compete with the big boys with their 465 hp? Ah...ha...ha...ha..
It stupid shit like this that make buy a Infiniti G37 coupe and I'm glad I did and I am really happy with my new G37 coupe. And you know what Lexus, my next car is the Infiniti is another G37 coupe or the baby G's if they make them.
This is what happen you do a half a$$ job, you lose a customer, (aka) me.

ISF is only 20k more than an IS350. The new gs will be around 58 to 60k so the GSF should be around 78 to 80k.....may be less. I hope.....

Rumor price. Also unless it goes down to 3500 lb, an NA engine of that hp won't face off w/ FI M5 to come.

Lexus and "better interiors"? Lexus has some of the most overrated and frankly ugly interiors in the business. None of them have any styling harmony or elegance. They're just a bunch of messed-up stylistic nightmares thrown together with tons of wannabe-upscale-looking cheap silver plastic. No Lexus interior has ever impressed me - not even that of the LS.

465hps is very low compared to its competitors. It needs to have at least 530hps to be somewhere, otherwise don't build it. Plus its price is just ridiculous.

Lexus need to put the same engine and horsepower in the Lexus LF-A into the upcoming GS-F, then I think it will have a much better chance of competing with the big boys. They have the technologies and money to do it, I just don't know why they keep playing it safe?

All the REAL enthusiast understands that this car is non competitive as far as HP goes but lets face it HP is not the only selling factor for MR and MS Smith I mean really who spends 100K on a car and uses all 500 horses? (most of use would BTW) but some people who can afford this car might consider HP and creature comforts as well, and this car better come real comfortable.

riiiiight. Because people buying $100k super sedans don't care about power or performance. Oh wait -- yes, they do. If they didn't care about those things, those "secure" Lexus buyers would just get the regular GS, or spend their $100k on an LS, or any host of other vehicles that aren't aimed at performance buyers (which is the whole reason Toyota created the Lexus "F" models in the first place).

sports:
so why are those 'secure' lexus buyers going to buy this instead of a GS350 for half the price? after all, they're so secure and don't need all that extra power.
