Automotive Sales Gain Traction In November With One Notable Exception
Six major automakers posted double digit sales increases from November 2009, but monthly volume fell at Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. for the fourth time in five months.

“Everybody's a winner except for Toyota,” said Jesse Toprak, vice president of industry trends at TrueCar.com. “All the major players did well in November, but Toyota was down even more than we expected.”

Sales of Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles fell 3 percent to 129,317 units in November. TrueCar had forecast a 2 percent decline.

October was down 3% unadjusted for Toyota while the rest of the market was up on average 17%. The only brands that showed more of a decline were either being discontinued or have been sold off to another nation.

Toyota incentives are up 24% compared to November last year while Hyundai incentives are DOWN 12%.

BTW Hyundai sales were up 45% for the same month, with $400 less cash thrown on the hood of each and every car.

I think the numbers are far from fine right now, and I am not sure where they need to go from here.

"where will they go?" you ask. they will try to dethrone the M5/E-AMG wahhahaha they'll make the GS-F which will fail just like the IS-F, so on and so forth. Toyota seems to be lost right about now, and i'm enjoying every second of it!!! They have no catchy signature. they are boring. they are for people who don't understand the phrase "fast lane". they are keeping humans from evolving!!

Don't count Toyota out just yet. Lets see if GM, FORD and Chrysler can keep up with the hype in the next 2 to 5 years. And lets see if Toyota sits still in the next 2 to 5 years. BMW, MB and Audi are trying to be mainstream luxury car makers if ever there is such a description. Just imagine a German luxury brand with the volumes of say Honda or Volkswagen and hope there aren't any recalls or complaints they'll be getting from their global markets.

Its hype because GM just came out of bankruptcy and with new IPO, Ford claiming they made so and so millions but are also hundreds of millions in debt, Chrysler is still fixing itself. The non-commodity Chrysler cars you refer to (I'm not sure which ones) are the new standard in the industry and Toyota is coming back with a vengeance for sure. They're not known for sleeping at the wheel.
