Porsche to unveil a spectacular model at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show
According to the latest reports from Automotive News it appears that Porsche will unveil a spectacular model in January, at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, marking its return after exiting four years ago. “We'll have something spectacular to show there,” Hans- Gerd Bode, a spokesman at the Stuttgart-based carmaker, said in an interview today. “You'll have to wait and be surprised.” The new car will be unveiled on January 10, when Porsche will join VW group presentations. For those who don’t know, Porsche pulled out of Detroit after 2007 and said that it will focus its activities in the United States on Los Angeles.

Production version of the new 918 Spyder?

Personally, I'm much more impressed with an "accessible" marvel, than some stratospherically priced exotic. The Boxster was such a car when it was introduced. It was Porsche's way to lower the price of entry while still delivering a wonderful car.

A production ready 918 Spyder would be amazing, but my guess would be either the new 911 or a 911 Hybrid using a toned-down version of the Williams KERS system.

It would be nice if Porsche brings back the "356" series! A smaller, non VW based, high quality, fast 356! No - the Boxster never qualified! Way to large! Just put them side by side and you will see what I mean! And don't worry about price Porsche, we will step up! I promise!

A new 356 would be so cool. However, I don't think they could get it down close to 356 diminsions, satisfy the feds, and have any cockpit space.

Spectacular to me means "uber expensive". Therefore I'm guessing the production version of the 918 Spider concept. I am not expecting the
the bottom end(bluesport) shared sports car with VW and Audi. That is still some time away. Also "spectacular" would not be an SUV like the Cajun. No it would have to be the hybrid spider or a sub Panamera sized designed sedan.Anotherwords somthing that Porsche has not produced for production before.
