STUD or DUD: Is The New SLK Finally A COOL Car?
After months of heavy cladding, spy shots and wondering just how the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK would look, we've finally got some answers thanks to an advertisement that hit the web today. I guess you can call it a "leak" of sorts.

Regardless, we've got the video down below and it gives you a damn good idea of the new 2012 SLK. And although many writers would contest it's a car for "hair dressers" this new SLK has some attitude to it. It looks like its a bit more aggressive and means business.

Is 00R right or wrong?

Is the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK finally COOL?


I'm glad they're back to making it look like a mini SL instead of an SLR wannabe...

Beautiful car, I still prefer the F1 nose vs. the Dodge Grill. The fast fold rear wind screen is brilliant.

I agree it's way better than the last SLK I like it, but is it me or does it look like a Crossfire from certain angles!?

A cool car, but I am not a fan of...

The new SLK has the front from the new CLS, some interior element from the SLS, the rear tail-light of the SLR, and the fins of the SL on the hood as I can see atm...Anymore?

Sidenote: The headlamp has the Bimmer eyelids with angel eye as well!

Love the interior. It much more butch than the old one, not really better looking just harder edged. IMO the Z4 still has it nailed on looks.

Man, that thing is a straight up dud. For one main reason, and that is it look like they took the CLS to a cop shop and just glued it on a front end of a small compact car. And the thing is I am a big fan of the CLS, but I can not stand this.

Correction I met to say chop shop, not cop shop, well then again seeing how pitiful it looks on the car, I may leave it as a cop shop who done it.

Big improvement. From the side however there is still someting wrong with its stance and sillouhuette. A cool car just sits and looks right...this one does not carry it off for some reason.

it's better looking than before, though I'm iffy on the Dodge Charger front end. My biggest dislike with the SLK is the stance -- from the side it looks too short, like an SL that was crushed in front and back (it probably doesn't help that I think the SL looks great). Still, it's much more masculine than before. Still think the new Z4 looks better though.

An evolutionary design. Not a fan of SLS nose. IMO it is step back from the SLR Nose. Overall looks nice.
