AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE: 'Baby' Chrysler 300c just around the corner?

No one can argue that the Chrysler 300c has done wonders for them AND for the entire business.

Love it or hate it, it has swagger and people are voting with their wallets in favor of it, over than bland offerings from DCX's competitors.

So when we saw these really clean spy photos of the next Sebring we could help but see a lot of the 300c in the design.



And we think that's a good thing.

We also see a little Lexus GS from the rear view.



Which is also a good thing.

Except for cars like the Ford Fusion and Mercury Whatever.

The all-new Sebring will be riding on a Mitsubishi Lancer platform, but will be powered by Chrysler?s own engines, and will not be a Lancer clone, and will continue to be built at Chrysler's Sterling Heights plant.

Came in and turned an American brand around. I guess Mercedes understands what the AMERICAN public wants more than the American companies do. Look out Ford and GM.

That is the first thing that came to mind as I saw the rear-end. I didn't think 5 Series though, and would never think the 5 looks like the Avalon rear-end. This rear-end has (from the spy pictures) Avalon written all-over it. Looks good though. I think it will sell well.

These photos reveal it won't be an unpleasant car to look at, but it lacks creativity and will date rapidly. I dread the interior photos.

I think American car makers need to out-source their designs to Europe.

Or something. ANYTHING.

Why the heck were they testing in Germany? Take a look at this article i found at www.americancarfans.com via the Sebring pictures.

"Prototypes of the new 2007 Chrysler Sebring have been spotted lately around the Detroit area, but these new photos actually show the car testing in Germany! – and our spy was lucky to get a shot from the uncovered rear when engineers were working on the car and forgot to close the gate of their workshop. With Chrysler’s attempt to enter the European market, we’re pretty sure to see the car being offered in the Old World not too far from now."

Can't wait to see it without the wraps! Yep, can't wait for our Jeep Liberty to need to get tire rotations so we can rent this car! lol jj

c7azyazndude, how can you even compare a 2007 Chrysler to a ratty outdated Chivalay. Shame on you. They have the front and rear of the car masked a bit so its really not clear as to what it exactly looks like. However, I can surmise that it isn't like a GM product.
However, the style doesn't seem to have much carryover from the 300C. Not sure if this one will be as much of a hit. Either way, they are doing a fine job when compared to Ford and GM.
