GOOD or BAD? Land Rover Says NO To Hybrid Evoque
In the new automotive spectrum, alternative fuel vehicles are the new "in" thing to have in your lineup. And if you haven't been paying attention, this has given new entrepreneurs the chance to play with the big boys.

Case in point: Coda and Fisker. Granted, both are having their own respective troubles getting the product to market.

However, the big guns have churning out hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles since this fiasco reared its ugly head. Take, for example, Volkswagen and Audi's lean towards diesel, TDI, variants. Or how about Toyota's plan to implement hybrids across its entire fleet?

Long story short, there's got to be some sort of acceptance somewhere down the line and when you are going to be releasing one of the sexiest and most relevant products to date, you would expect Land Rover to go along with this.

Except they aren't.

Is Land Rover hurting itself by not offering some sort of "green" Evoque?


Range Rover’s new Evoque baby SUV will not benefit from hybrid technology despite its LRX concept car predecessor featuring electrically driven rear wheels as part of an ultra green 4x4 format.

Instead the hybrid running gear will be applied first to future generation Discoveries and Range Rovers, according to Land Rover’s global brand director John Edwards...

I don't think people buy Land Rovers (Range Rovers in particular) for low emissions and fuel efficiency.

Coda and Fisker are hardly playing with the big boys. They are so far out of it, they can't even get a flight to the city where the game is being played.

Tesla showed up at the stadium to play ball but found out it was a hockey rink and have been trying to raise money for a stick and a puck ever since.
