MINI may develop a small car for Bmw, says brand boss
MINI brand may develop a new small car for its parent company, Bmw, according to brand boss Wolfgang Armbrecht. The so-called ‘mini’ MINI will be firm’s smallest vehicle, and will be Bmw’s dream to build a small and spacious car.

Armbrecht also said that the car will be previewed in a concept form in January at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, and will represent ''the next spectacular idea from the Mini brand''. ''Keep a close eye on the coming months,'' he added.

How is Mini going to help BMW when BMW not only owns, but also builds the Mini. They even share many parts, like pedals, shifters and some mechanical parts as well. What the article should say is BMW is going to make a small car based on a Mini platform.

I think the article meant that the MINI DESIGNERS will DESIGN/"develop" the new micro car for BMW and it will of course also share platforms with a new micro MINI... Correct me if I am wrong agent____.

Probably because BMW failed with the 1-series entry level. It instead turned into a performance coupe instead of an entry level BMW. Maybe Mini can help fix that. Entry leve would be starting at 30k or just a hair over, not mid to high 30's which is where the 3 series started not too long ago.
