Both BMW And Honda Refuse To Move To NASCAR Until Fuel Injection Is Adopted?

Most people would say it’s about time NASCAR adopted fuel injection. After all, the only four-wheel vehicle you can buy with a carb has a Toro or John Deere nameplate. Yet sources say BMW and Honda won’t come to NASCAR with carburetors.

What’s the hang up guys? Many other racing series have had fuelies for years. Are the BMW and Honda rumors, pardon the pun, fueling the fire?

NASCAR is not what comes to mind when I think of BMW ///Motorsport. I think NASCAR fans like it just the way it is, or if anything, they'd like it the way it was not too long ago. No need to mess with it.

I don't think NASCAR fans care what car is being driven. They are identical plastic facsimiles of each other varying only by the decal lights stuck on the front. Kinda like the go-carts you race at the beach or fair.

This why nascar is filled with plenty of disloyal fans, remember racing has always been about cars/manufacture! Only in last few years has this new fan came along and started to make the driver more important, stickers dont matter its what where your loyality is you either pull for chevy or you dont! Thats what a real motorsports fan is not a personality fan is which is what a lot of nascar fans are now!

Why should they have to dumb down to a carb. Nascar needs to upgrade eventually.

What I think is so stupid is all of the cars are exactly the same template, so whats the point. They call it stock car, but when have you ever seen a 2 door rear wheel drive ford fusion, or a rear wheel drive monte carlo? the cars should have the same shape as the production cars with the exception of the aerodynamic enhancements to improve stability. How can automakers compete when the cars are all the same with restricter plates keeping them with the same hp.

The only thing that should be the same is the cubic inches, how is technology going to evolve if they are mandated to remain in the stone age! Imagine if it were like that, Technology would thrive! If one company did it better than the rest that would make me want to buy that car company's car because it would be winning all of the races and clearly would be cutting edge tech.
