2011 Honda Civic Scores Only TWO Stars In Side Crash Safety Testing

The 2011 Honda Civic sedan got an overall crash test rating of just three stars in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's new testing, the agency announced today. NHTSA has been slowly revealing results for the of 55 vehicles tested under its revised five-star New Car Assessment Program.

How Civic's overall score, which is based on three of the five tests, breaks down: Four stars for the frontal-crash test, two stars in the side-crash test, four stars for rollover risk.

As more cars get rated by the new system, it will be interesting to see just how many were engineered to just pass the test rather than protect the occupants.

What small car has 5 stars? There web sits is not user friendly. And I love the new tougher testing, since when do people drive into you at 20mph? It would usually be around 50mph, and that is where the testing should be aimed at, reality!
