The newsest car won, something that can be expected. But the Audi beats the BMW, the two cars are roughly the same age. To Sunny and other Audi haters, it looks like this "inferior jetta on steroids" beats your loved BMWs once again.

I believe Chrysler is OWNED by Mercedes-Benz under Daimler Chrysler, where the Mother company Daimler is German. Chrylser was bought by Daimler Benz back in 1998. In actual fact Chrysler is no longer an American Company, as it is now a subsidery of DaimlerChrysler AG.

Just to clarify, the naming in companies and industries are different from names of people- where the family name is at the end. For companies and industries, the mother company or the owner's name is placed at the FRONT. For example Renault-Nissan Corp is owned by Renault and not by Nissan.

And please get your facts right before suggesting these invalid points. Chrysler is actually benefitting from old mercedes parts and engineering. For example the Crossfire is practically the old SLK, and the crossfire is actually built in Germany. Second of all, Chrysler is using the old 4speed/ 5 speed transmission from mercedes on its Rear Wheel Drive platforms like the 300,Magnum,Charger. Right now there are no evidences of Chrysler parts/ design/ engineering in application on mercedes products.

I believe the Maybach Trunk design (with the little buldge) came out before the BMW7 series's Trunk Design. Through an article (from a german magazine site) and by observation I believe the S class's trunk design mirrors those of the Maybach and not the 7series as many argued (also suggested by this video). It is one of the prominent Art Deco inspirations for streamlining and adding elegance to a vehicle of this grandeur.

This Chrysler Stratus design has been around since 1994.

I believe you, but you have to remember, that BMW has more products out than does Audi, but not for long. Soon Audi will catch up. As the case, Audi did better than the BMW in this particualar test. Sure it lost to the brand new S class. I think when they were talking abut the MB and insurance, I think that they meant that it requires some sort of special insurance, it fits in some other insurance categorie.

Look at the crappy Audi do better than the brilliant BMW in the video above. If you say that the 7 series looks better than does the A8, then go ahead. There is nothing that can be done to change your opinion.

I would sure hope BMW has a lead on sales over Audi. They have been a company selling cars in the US since the 50's. Audi has been in the US market since the early 70's. Almost a 20 year head start better dictate to more sales.

Sales really is nothing more than that, a sales figure.

No real correlation between sales volume vs. quality or performance. Sales is an indicator of how well you target the market you are seeking. That is why the 3 series is a target leader and so is the Camry. Different marketing to different group. Believing that sales is an indicator of quality, is incorrect, and this is the argument incorrectly used by a lot of the Toyota fans.

It may be more of an indicator of the “lemming” factor.

It takes GUTS to deviate from the norm. It is easy to follow status quo and make a square care and dish it out as the NEW XXXXX.... but kudos to the man who makes the first triangular car and sells 1,000,000 of them for $50,000 and up!

I think car design is like art. People always ridicule a artist that deviates from what everyone else does. But years later when everyone is copying the NEW trend, peoples eyes become accustomed to the lines and then praise the artist for his wonderful ideas.

Remember when the BMW slanted downwards at the rear. Many people said, "What the hell is p with that?!" I look at the old 635 csi's darting through traffic and think to myself... CLASSIC!

Sedaine, I can relate what you said very well by relating the effect of having no women in prison is to the inmates. After spending 5-10 years in prison, some inmates start to think, "Hmmm George's butt sure looks hott now after all this time. Afterall, there aren't any attractive women in here. Same goes for the Bangle's car designs. I would rather he not deviate from natural beauty in order to brainwash me into thinking his designs look good. Beauty is beauty and it is NOT to be fu**ed with.

I wouldn't call Bangle a saviour. I could call him an artist. But, what is an artist? Some Canadian artists have taken roadkill and hung them on tree branches and people can call that art. In fact, people did. It was a big controversey where I live, however, they were hailed by critics. 'Oooh, look they changed the way that people view art! They are leaders and trend-setters in the art world! Why can't everyone be so 'brave' as they are?'

Some things should never change, and, I whole heartedly doubt that Bangle is changing the way people view beauty because his design will not dominate. Of course, there will always be some people who will deviate from the natural course, but that fact has never changed in all of mankind; this is nothing new. Some design elements look good on new BMWs, however, it is in my opinion and many others' that the seperate design elements look much better than how it looks on a whole. When these design elements are put together, as one German Auto Design Exec who is to remain anonymous, according to Forbes says that the Bangle designs "torture" the sheet-metal.

So, to sum this all up, Bangle's car designs are to beauty what butt-love with George is to Jimbo in prison. Prison really is a place for some truly brave people. Let's take after them.

that deviated and did a good job at it was the TT. This was the direction they should have gone with all their cars. Not the SQUARES by Piccaso thing they keep doing.

The analogy of prison was ok, but the difference is imagine being in prison with woman and then thinking that George's butt looks good. It's not like the BMW's exist in a vaccum!!!

Then also remember that there are people that want something -- anything different. In my opinion cars were all beginning to look the same.

Remember when Mercedes came out with the 'HIGH BOOT'? That started a trend... now BMW is starting it's own trend.

In the twisted world according to Nate and Titto. If it sells more then it must be better. Lets see what the Germans actually say about that.

Actually if you look at it BMW without Mini in Germany sells less cars over all than Audi. They are currently on a 3.5% slide in sales for the year and Audi is on a 3.5% increase as well. So the gap will widen.

If people don't think that the A6 is an elegant luxurious car, they are probably a 22 year old Californian blonde air-head. Those are not the kind of people that intelligent people are trying to attract. Seriously, if you loose or even turn off a client because you drive an A6 as opposed to a 5 series, you are probably doing business with the wrong kind of people and, on top of that, I doubt those people are in business for long!

Good comments and I understand where you are coming from (the mindset at least). However Audi is pretty independent of VW. If you notice you will see an Audi model come out and if the chassis is shared down it is simplified for the new role.

Look into the details and you will see the suspension in the VW is far simpler and less costly than an Audi in the same chassis. Another case in point is the RS4 has Lambo brakes, why develop a totally new braking system when you can simply add genuine super car brakes? It at least saves R&D cost or minimizes it. Now I would have a problem sharing golf brakes to the RS4, but that does not typically happen. VW typically shares down and modifies. This is unlike Toyota where a Camry comes out and is then shared up and is identical under the skin to a Lexus.

Hint the Olympic logo has five rings. The Audi’s styling looks nothing like any VW model other than a prominent grill. After that I see nothing to show they are even close.

Note sure about that, but I think the average Audi owner is highly aware of who he is and probably is not too concerned with who sees him in what. He is not concerned with a “wow factor” . I guess quiet and carries a big stick is their approach.

The 3 Series is a desirable car with a wide spread dealership network. That is why there are so many. If you wanted exclusive try a S4 or RS4.

How old are you? 14 or 15? Your verbiage, sentence construction and grasp of the English language at least indicate about the level of schooling or less. I bet the closest you ever get to a BMW is a parking lot.

But I do understand your dream to eventually trade in your ten-speed and buy a fixer upper. Try a 1980’s 318i you will wear it well and it is not too much of a car for you. A dapper car for a “Dapper Dude”. Until then you might want to refer to those on this forum as “Sir” until you can show the common respect that they try to show you. Pretty well thought out posts. You are quite bang-on when it comes to the Audi. I am not an Audi lover but I do appreciate their cars and admire them when comparing them to their competitors.

The Audi RS4 is most definitely a force to be reckoned with.

I like all cars but domestics. Domestics just have zero style. You would be hard-pressed to find me in a bangle (except for the new 3 coupe) without a gun to my head as many have probably figured out by now.

A lot of the comments the fanboys are making is mainly due to insecurities, ignorance, and simply wanting a reason (all bad ones) to b*tch and use the brand as an outlet for feeling better than others.

Thanks for the comments. I have raced and driven them since the 80's. They have come into their own lately, and frankly this is the first time I have ever seen BMW become reactionary. Audi is poised to crank up the heat tremendously, and BMW gets it. Right now we are seeing an bunch of smoke and mirrors from them because their pants are down but that will change.

Now if I can just pound some sense into those other guys their is something out there other than a BMW.

About Bangle... let me see, is that the new Maxima? No just a new 5 series.....
