M3 Killer? 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG To Have 571 HP
In a conversation last night with Inside Line, Mercedes-Benz announced that when the new C-Class AMG Black Series Coupe (we're assuming it'll keep the C63 naming convention) hits sometime next year, it will carry a version of the company's twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8. In the S63 AMG and with the performance pack, this motor makes 571 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque between 2,250 and 5,500 rpm.

Add another 1000HP to it and it still won't touch the M3 around the Nurburgring

That is some impressive torque, but I just cant get excited about a performance car that does not offer a manual gearbox.

I don't think MB has ever offered a performance car with a manual gearbox. The closest you'll get is a flappy paddle. If it's as fast as the SLS AMG's shifting then this is a winner.

You are correct. All AMGs have autos or flappy paddles. I think that says a lot about the company. I will always view them as a car for people who desire a status symbol, not for people who love to drive.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. If driver involvement isn't that important to you and you are looking for a comfortable and fast ride that will impress girls you really cant go wrong with an AMG.
Personally I would have more fun in a $1000 beater miata.

Thats a truck torque in a small car. Scary stuff. Fun and easy to drift the car. Dynamic wise it wont touch m3. Drag race wise it will kill it

You know you said a mouth full Silver997turbo. That being said the M3 is my favorite car of the BMW line up. Many people forget about the process in which is call the balanced process. For a lack of better word the M3 has a "track maturity" about itself in which its dynamics knows when to relegate sufficient power to situation. And I want to make it known that by all means I'm not a BMW (place what you want here) rider. I just recognize quality when I see it. Besides, the CTS-V Coupe already murdered the M3 on the ring. Laugh out Loud

I love BMW's M performance package and MB's AMG performance but comparing a BMW with only around 414 hp to a C-CLASS C63 AMG with 571 hp is Not fair comparison. Around the track and corners BMW probably handle better but straight this new MB C63 AMG is going to kill it like Silver997turbo says.

It's safe to say most of us are fans of AMG and M badged vehicles. Who doesn't like powerful rockets. Pick your style and your poison. Also who doesn't like smoke and drifting and fast track times. There's no doubt these cars can do a fast lap. It's just a matter of how you want to accomplish that fast lap. We're no racers so it doesn't matter if it's 1 second or half a second behind the other. It's all about fun and a good laugh at the end of the day. Normal drivers out there will never make it drift anyways and if they do they won't take it to the max so in terms of balance it's still there. It's just not as good as the other.

No heel and toe ? No way.
You're supposed to buy a sport car for your own pleasure, not for bragging rights.

I had a 1995 bmw m3. 240 hp. Not the best generation m3 but still light and fun to drive. I hope bmw go back with 6 cyl. Althou they will go 6 with turbo which i dont think its a true M anymore. Hope bmw goes old school. Ultimate driving machine. They dont need to be the fastest like MB
