The Ford C-MAX is an all-new, affordable transportation alternative for growing, busy North American families who crave industry-first technology, flexible seating and interior space, sporty performance and best-in-class fuel economy.

“The Ford C-MAX provides still more proof of how our One Ford plan continues to deliver the high-quality, fuel-efficient products people really want,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas. “C-MAX is just right for customers in North America seeking stylish, flexible transportation and life-enhancing technology that comes standard.”

The new C-MAX is part of Ford Motor Company’s global small vehicle strategy that will deliver at least 10 vehicles – and 2 million vehicles annually – from a single C-vehicle platform by 2012.

This new compact family vehicle introduces a host of unique features including an industry-exclusive hands-free power-operated rear liftgate, versatile 5+2 seating configuration with five seats in the main cabin and two smaller seats in the third row, twin sliding doors and active park assist, an advanced new system that automatically steers the vehicle into parallel parking spaces.

I've been a big fan of these small minivans for a long time and even more so recently as I live and work in Asia. The flexibility/practicality of this class is undervalued in my opinion. I'm hoping Ford and Mazda (now that Kia has retreated from this segment) find success with this class here in N America (as they have in Europe and Asia). The fold-in middle seat in the 2nd row and the sliding doors are great designs in my mind and I'm hoping Ford will offer more engine options in the future.

dose not do anything a good mid sized crossover can do.

Sure it will, it will get well over 30 MPG.

Mid-Size Crossovers suck gas. And to me they are all a waste. I'd rather have a nice wagon than a crossover anyday.

Not bad looking and very practical for those who don't want a land barge minivan. should be able to do everything a larger minivan can do with much better fuel economy. Kudos to for for bringing this here. If they keep bringing European models here GM and Chrysler will not be able to touch ford. With their reliability doing so much better and having driving dynamics of a European car, the Japanese will have a big problem. Never thought I'd say this but If I were shopping in the segment, a couple of these fords would be on my top list. The new Focus and Fiesta and now this. Ford is onto something and need to bring the mondeo next.
