VIDEO: Porsche Cayenne vs. BMW X6 vs. Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG vs. Audi Q7 V12 TDI
Although this video is a bit outdated, it made its way around a forum recently and it brings up a good point: is the X6 the best performance sport-utility vehicle for the price?

Given the choices presented, most will say that the X6M should have been used. Well, even though that's a valid point, the problem is that the video was filmed before the M made its debut.

Anyhoo, onto the footage...

Awesome comparison test done by a british website...
X6 50i vs Cayenne Turbo vs ML63 vs Q7 V12

All were driven around a small and fairly technical race track...
Check out the times at the end of the second video

1. Cayenne Turbo 1:47.5
2. X6 -- 1:47.6
3. ML63 AMG -- 1:48.3
4. Q7 V12 -- 1:50.7

Pretty impressive considering the price of the "standard" X6 is considerably less than all of these options. Makes me think what an X6M would have done to the competition...

X6 is ugliest too...

This video comparison isn't nearly as stupid as the one that showcased the following in a 1/4mi. drag:

Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (550hp)
BMW X6 M (555hp)
LR Range Rover Sport (510hp)
Infiniti FX 5.0 (400hp)

The Seasame Street song "One of these things is not like the other" is the first thing that comes to mind. Whoever thought that comparison made any bit of sense should be tied up and beaten with pillow cases filled with razor blades and lemon juice.

that's exactly the same thing. The videos above tested three "top end" vehicles with 500+ hp (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes), and one "mid level" with 400hp (BMW) that cost 33% less than the others. The only difference between the test you're talking about and this one is that the less expensive, less powerful car beat two of the others and almost beat all three. And X6 M or X5 M would have dominated.

I know the X6M would stomp them. The point I'm trying to make is the decision makers behind some of these comparisons are either having their arm twisted by manufacturers so their car doesn't look bad, or the most ignorant bunch of tw**s imaginable.

Ummm...How is the X6 comparable to typical traditional SUVs? It's a crossover at best, which would put it in the market of people who shop Infiniti FX's.

It still has the same chassis as the X5 which is an SUV, it just has a different roof line.
