VIDEO: ANOTHER Reminder Why Nissan's GT-R Has Earned Its Place In Auto History
Now, although plenty of die-hard, exotica fans will argue until the end of time that Nissan's GT-R is "Still a Nissan at the end of the day," they left one thing out:

Still, it will likely spank just about anything on the road.

In this rolling start race, it's clear that the GT-R has earned its respect. It may lack the "soul" of Italy's finest but if you want to talk bragging rights and pissing contents, it's really hard to top the GT-R. Especially when it competes so well in stock form.

From the same outfit that brought you the Heffner Twin Turbo Gallardo Spyder promo, check out this latest video from Dan Wang’s project, SuperFastHD. This video features a short 10-120mph roll race between a stock Nissan R35 GT-R and a Lamborghini Murcielago with a third-party exhaust system...

Not related to this video: I always wonder what happens if Lambo sourced AWD from Nissan.

and that ladies & gentlemen is an almost 1/2 million dollar performance car getting spanked by one that costs about 80K. The GTR might be the best bang for the buck in automotive history.

You wanna look pretty & rich? Sell that Lambo and get yourself an Aston for the ladies and a GTR for the track then pocket 200K FTW!!!

Really ?

1---$300,000 is not by any estimate " Almost $1/2 Million car"
2---Riced up Murcielago with Idiotic Aftermarket Exhausts and Oversized and Overweight Rims does not indicate the true performance nature of a stock Murcielago.

GT-R is a fantastic vehicle, no doubts about that.

But a bit of common sense does no harm.

Watch the Video.

Did you not find it odd that the GT-R only gained on the Murc during shift-ups ?

Ill make it easy, one vehicle is sporting a Manual Transmission, the other DSG.

So unless Mr Valentino Balboni was driving the Murc, the GT-R would always gain during shifts.

I would personally have a GT-R, but the ZR-1 is pretty good bang for your performance buck as well. I might have to give them a tie in that specific criteria.

Call me shallow, but I don't spend any time on the track any more. And when I did, I didn't have "the stuff" needed to be a racer. So if I were to get an expensive sport car, I'd get something like an Audi R8, and save a couple hundred thousand off the price of this Nissan. But that's just me.

Sorry, BIG correction on my part: I was thinking "Lexus LFA" prices, rather than the more reasonably priced GT-R, at only about $80K. My big mistake. The GT-R gives you quite a big bang for your sports car buck.

from all the pricing sites I reviewed, I looked at the Murc ranges from around to 360K - 450K fully loaded alot closer to .5 million than not.

The real fanboys seem to be the ones making excuses as to why the Murc got walked twice.....

Waiting for refreshed 530BHP GT-R numbers. That thing might beat everything except a Bugatti in a straight line.

I can't wait to see the 2011 Nissan GT-R with 530 hp and 488 lbs-ft torques to do 0-60 in 2.7 to 3.0s = ) If I had the money and was looking for a Super Sport Car, the Nissan GT-R would be it. It Unfreaking Real the performance the Nissan GT-R is making and what it Spank on the race track and the price as well.

Here's another GT-R video I find equally amazing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zbDefxZoo8

Yes it's tuned, yes the Veyron is stock, but when you're talking about a car that doesn't just handily beat cars like Ferrari Enzos, but murders them, watching something come along to spank it THIS hard is just amazing. Enjoy.

@ I95SPEEDINGTICKETS

1- I think he's talking about final sales prices, which would probably be in the 400k's, thus close to half a mil.

2 - The Lambo wasn't riced, it looks fine. Also, you don't know if the bigger wheels added more weight, where in fact, it might have lessened the weight if bought from the right company. Ditto for the exhaust, it may have helped, maybe not.

IMO, I think they should have done this with an E-gear lambo to be fair. Still, by the look of pure numbers the lambo should have the advantage, I am more intrigued on where the edge came from with the GTR to justify the results. As they said, the math doesn't like, and when it doesn't add up, then it's a real head-scratcher.
