Suzuki launching ad blitz to pit the performance of its 2011 Kizashi Sport against Audi A4, Mercedes C300
According to the latest reports, it appears that Suzuki is planning to launch an ad blitz on Christmas day, which will pit the performance of its 2011 Kizashi Sport sedan against the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C300 and Acura TSX. Dubbed Kizashi Kicks, the new campaign will show performance tests between the Suzuki Kizashi and other vehicles shown in 15-second and 30 second television ads. According to Steve Younan,

Are they trying to be like Hyunda was with the Range Rover comparisons?

Please stop, your marketing people are going to kill your company more than it already has been. Suzuki should work on marketing the car not competing it against ridiculous choices to show how much value you get in one.

Offer the Kizashi with 4WD, throw in some fun stick throwing and a turbo or more powerful engine option, then we can talk.

Otherwise it's just a properly refreshed Jetta.

More handy work of the village idiot Japanese executives sent here to run Suzuki...hate cars, hate americans, can't/won't speak english, don't want to assimilate at all...and this is what happens. Squandering the livelihoods of well intentioned U.S. workers. Criminal negligence.

LOL...... you apparently don't understand Asian culture. The Jap executive will care about the mundane product marketing? You should question that USC graduate marketing director Steve Younan!

Unfortunately, Front Wheel drive does not a Sports Sedan make! It will still drive like a front wheel drive car.

And my Timex is better than any Rolex watches because it shows calendar, temperature, and has a stopwatch to boot! Tried to close the door on one of those things (my girlfriend pointed it out at an Auto Show)? It's not a bad car, but stop treating the public like they can't tell the difference by saying it's as good as cars costing twice as much! You get what you pay for.

Funny thing about it is that those cars with the solid doors don't really last any longer.

Bought the Kizashi SLS last month. After driving 10+ new Kia's since 1995 and test driving the new Sonata, the Camry and Accord I must say that the Kizashi really does feel like a sports sedan. And the quality of interior materials blows away the Korean cars I had. Got rid of our 2009 Optima and 2010 Soul because the cheap plastics Kia started using scratched up all over within a month of owning the car.

They should compare to the Korean midsized sedans, that is a battle they can win if consumers give Suzuki a fair chance and realize that Suzzki outsells Honda in Japan!

@LexSucks - solid closing doors don't last longer...but ever heard of chasis flex? Like I said, great car - but disconnected marketing guys with a stupic campaign. You also don't see Mercedes saying the S-Class is better than a Rolls Royce. These type of claims are pointless.

It's not pointless in the sense that it bring market awareness of the Suzuki Kisashi. Many reviews of the car have stated that it exibits handling and poise of cars that cost double what it does.So why not go after this comparison? The car was developed at the Nurburgring. It's time to make enough of the general public aware of what the Kisashi is.While in price and size it compares to a VW Jetta it has a much better chassis and a much better quality interior. The only thing that Suzuki cannot and should not boast about is it's straight line performance. However playing up it's handling and stability I think is a good thing.

I seriously doubt it has a better interior than the jetta and the jettas chassis is a pretty tough act to follow concerning cars in its class.

Seriously? The Kizashi has the looks, that;'s for sure. But naught to 60 in 9.4 seconds is dismal....specially when you want position yourself as a sports sedan.

Isn't it ironic that this post comes directly after one that compares a Nissan GT-R and a Lamborghini. Lol.

Um theres no way it comes close to performing as good or better as the above mentioned. 9 Second 0-60 times are making it barely faster than a prius. I mean, a Jetta TDI blows the doors off this thing in acceleration with a blistering 8 second 0-60 time (sarcasm intended), handles just as good, if not better and gets far better fuel economy. I would get a Jetta TDI over this if I want performance and fuel economy. I just don't get how they can market this as performance when it is slower than every other car in its class by a significant margin.

Actually some publications has the 0-60 time under 8 seconds with the manual. Further the New Jetta(with the exception of the GLI) no longer has IRS. Further the American new Jetta uses very cheap plastic fittings on it's dash now to keep the price down.A Kisashi should run away from a Jetta in the corners.
