AWESOME or AWFUL: Is Audi's R8 Spyder Car Cover Too Arrogant?

AWESOME or AWFUL: Is Audi's R8 Spyder Car Cover Too Arrogant?
Audi marketing has really done some fantastic advertising. Whether it is on the web, television, print or a gigantic billboard in California, Audi always seems to one up the other guys.

This time the credit goes to Lowe Roche, the creator of the R8 garage door decal, for this car cover meant for BMW and Mercedes-Benz owners.

But after reading Lowe Roche's description, it seems that this marketing campaign may put a bad taste in some people's mouths. Check it out down below...

Here's the description from Lowe Roche's webpage: "Don’t have an Audi R8 Spyder? Now you can pretend to have one. Trick your neighbors, and best of all, trick yourself into thinking you have the car of your dreams. Perfect for the BMW or Mercedes owner in your life filled with regret."

Only an idiot would put one on a Porsche. However, it would be super cool to put one on an AMC Javelin, a Mustang II, or any other ugly
car.

Reminds me of the Gucci knock-off watches: The only folks you're impressing are those who are more ignorant than you.

Why couldnt they have made one from the scene in Transformers 2, where the r8 was torn in half? Frankly that was the best part of the movie and the only thing about the r8 that's ever made me smile.

At any rate, the arrogance of this lame company once again rears its ugly head. So sad, really. They're like the little dorky kids that sit in the lunchroom, deep down jealous of the cool table, so they (try to) make fun of them, unaware that everyone is actually laughing at THEM.

Maybe it your arrogance (and ignorance) that rears its ugly head. What does this car cover have to do with Audi the company? It is not an Audi product. I can understand someone not liking a certain car brand but you sure take it to a whole new and juvenile level.

Wow! So much hate. Did your Daddy not buy you an Audi and you had to settle for a BMW and MB posssibly? Don't be too jealous. Maybe you need anger management classes to control that jealousy of Audi. By the way douche, Audi is older than BMW by far and was building mega luxury Horch cars and racing Grand Prix while BMW was rebadging British Dixies. You are the perfect example why everyone sees BMW owners as total douche bags. You wish you could have 0.0001% of what Audi rakes in each year in profits easily surpassing your little Beenies and overrated MBs.

I find this funny actually. Sort of like senior pranks, creative that aims to annoy to the establishment. Having said that, it just reinforces the notion that Audi is always comparing themselves to its older and more established brothers. I don't find BMW and MB compare themselves to other car companies too often (although to some, that can be interpreted as arrogance as well). Bottom line, marketing campaign aiming to be funny.

Dudes...some of you are taking it faaar too seriously. Its a novelty. Nobody would put it on a Porsche a bimmer or a Benz...thats for Civics and Accords and for guys who aspire to have R8's. I like it.
