DRIVEN: Leno Gets Behind The Wheel Of Bentley's Latest, The Mulsanne
With cars like the Continental GT and Flying Spur, the consumer's idea of what a Bentley is has been skewed. That's probably because the latest Continental and Flying Spur were based off the Volkswagen Phaeton -- another remarkable automobile.

Although the Arnage was largely ignored, Bentley has something new and improved up its sleeve. The Mulsanne. Having gotten a look at one of the initial pre-production prototypes last year, I can attest to the car being special in its own respect but one question lingered: would it live up to Bentley's of the old days?

Jay Leno tackles that in this overview of the all-new Bentley Mulsanne.

Even better: is this a cooler alternative to the Rolls-Royce Ghost?

Those headlights make the front end absolutely hideous. I mean it isn't just ugly, its offensive. Its like staring directly in the sun. thats how much of a shock it has on the eyes.

The first words on the video are "we're here in the Bentley section of my garage..."

Must be nice.

LOL..so true..I didn't catch that when I first watched it...the good thing about Jay is that it is not intended to be snooty..just factual.

Absolutely beautiful. Every angle and proportion of that car exudes perfection. I love that "chunky", "thick" look that every part of it has. Bentley still hasn't swayed me from Rolls as a whole, but this car is a move in that direction. Well done.

On a side note, I really like the way Leno does his reviews. It might be hard for people to imagine exactly here he's coming from, but when you test out and flat out own as many cars as he does, it's very easy to lose touch with the way the common person thinks about cars. I never get that feeling with him though, he seems very down to earth and "relatable". I'm far more interested in hearing his opinion than say, Jeremy Clarkson from "Top Gear".

Yeah, I agree with you on those looks. I actually like it. I think it is a very handsome and attractive saloon. Period. This car has so much presence about itself.

I like Leno's reviews as well but I like Clarkson just as much. They do things very differently. Leno with a comparitively mild road test and Clarkson with a more in depth track test.Jay brings the common man into it. Clarkson is more over the top and more opininated. Both serve a valuable function of informing the public, however.

@Mini22, I do agree with you on your statement but I would have to say that Clarkson have a habit of over exagerating the porpotions a bit, which leads me to have to decypher between what is fluff and actuality. And if you ask me, Jay have more creds than Clarkson. This guy literately not only drives, but owns a exotics from the pass to the presence and maybe even the future.
