NEW Details Emerge About Porsche's Next-Gen 911
By now you have probably seen plenty of spy shots of the upcoming Porsche Carrera, nicknamed the 991. If you have taken a close look, you can tell something is just "off." Well, that's because there are a bunch of adjustments to the next-generation 911.

Take, for instance, the new proportions for the 911. The updated version will be 56mm longer, a 10mm longer wheelbase and be 11mm shorter. Also, look for a 60mm wider rear end.

Additionally, the new 911's motors will receive an overhaul with speculation suggesting the base model will get a 3.4-liter six-cylinder capable of 345 horsepower and the S variant gets equipped with a 3.8-liter powerplant that produces 395 horsepower.

As the 991 will be lighter and more efficient, you can expect its mpg to increase.

I want to own this car one more time. I had one in 1985 it had a 200hp flat 6. I could blast around town like an asshole again.

It's not what one would call a radical change. It will also be 44LBS lighter in standard Carrera spec. The only thing of interest to me is the supposed new rear suspension. This should make the car handle better then before. An inch and a half longer barely a little more then a quarter of an inch lower and not any wider on the base Carrera. You might need a magnifying glass to spot the dimension differences. Well they are able to get away with it so obviously they know what their doing. I just wish they would get slightly braver in the design styling department. The base price will probably go up by 10 grand. Woopee!!
