SPY PHOTOS: The next BMW M3 gets caught-Side view

The powerful M-version of BMW’s 3-series is scheduled for launch next year only.
The 3-series M will be available as coupe, convertible and four door. For the first time power will come from a V 8 powerplant, deriving from the M 5 and M 6. It is a 4,0 litre engine delivering 415 HP, transmission is a seven speed SMG gearbox,. A traditional six speed manual transmission will be offered as an option.

The photos are showing an almost undisguised M 3 coupe prototype from all angles on yesterday’s test drive in Munich featuring the large air intakes at the front end, wider fenders and four exhaust pipes. Another year later BMW will launch an M 3 convertible - and a four door version.

that is a pre-production version, the production model will look much more aggressive trust me. They don't want to draw attention to the car when testing so they keep un-assuming looking as possibl.

it is more aggressive in its final iteration. These shots make it look to me like a regular 3 series coupe. (save the 4 exhaust pipes of course) I cant wait to see the final version.

I think it Not aggressive enough to get notice. Definitely need more flare and fender on the back and side for sure. The current M3 model look way more aggressive. From the picture above I would rather choose the RS4 or IS450/500 when it come out of production off course.

Is it my imagination, or has BMW toned down that goofy crease alone the side of the car?

You'd think that BMW would have learned from the old Hyundai Tiburon than "different" does not equate with "attractive."

Nothing special as of right now, it probably will look better when it come out. But the new coupe does look akward from some angles. Not sure if the can be fixed.
