STUD OR DUD? 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Photos Leak Out
Official photos of the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe showed up on the internet today, revealing the exterior as well as the interior of the two-door model.

Based on the refreshed C-Class that will bow at next week's Detroit Show, the newcomer in Mercedes' range features a sleeker and less complicated design than the larger and more expensive E-Class Coupe.

Hoffmeister-like rear window is too obviously BMW-inspired.

Likening the rear quarter window to a "Hoffmeister kink" is like saying there are such things as SAV's and SAC's, the BMW 5 series GT is an actual GT car, or coupes have 4 doors. In other words, that's a bunch of malarky. The rear window does however have a kink similar to what would be found on numerous vehicles.

Handsome but predictable. Cant help but notice a lot of Honda Accord in that side profile and dlo.

It'll sell well, but nothing to write home about stylistically.

Try again.

I'm curious as to what you would consider worthy of "writing home about".

In profile it looks alot like an Accord Coupe even down to kink in the window glass which the Accord has a very similar look...

I agree with you 100% that it does look very similar to the Honda Accord coupe.

This design shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. It works well and the proportions look good. I would have preferred if they brought the rear window to a point (like the E and CL) instead of the kink.

Looks like an accord coupe from the side

Is this better than the CLC... I shouldn't be asking myself that!

Looks a little like the Accord Coupe but I'm guessing considerably smaller. The Accord coupe is gigantic in my opinion. I would say good looking but conservative. Should have mass market appeal. The kink does not bother me. All car companies copy each others style ques anyway so this is no surprise.

It seems better resolved than the E, CLC or CLK, which both sell/sold very well in the UK, so I think it will do well. Not sure what it's competition-point will be - 1-series/A3 or 3-series/A5, but it looks like it could draw attention from both. Looks very "tough" for a non-AMG. I bet the 350 diesel will be a hoot. I want one!

Currently in this segment I think the Audi A5/S5, and Cadillac CTS coupe tie for 1st place, Infiniti 2rd place and BMW 3-Series coupe 3rd. I have to see more pictures of this C-Class coupe before I make judgement.

BMW 3-Series coupe 3rd? Behind the G37, and Caddy CTS. That's funny. The BMW 335 coupe performs as well as the S5 yet costs way less, and it outperforms every other car that you've listed. What makes the Infiniti and Caddy better than a 3-series in your book? I'd love to hear it, and I'd bet that it is 100% personal (which is ok).

LexSucks.....as you stated, "The BMW 335 coupe performs as well as the S5 yet costs way less, and it outperforms every other car that you've listed." Performance isn't everything, which is why BMW lovers are so demonized on this site. They figure since their cars can outperform everything else that they're the best in every category.

Lexus is making his judgment based on the cars aesthetic. And the BMW 3 series isn't exactly pleasing to the eye.

@LexuSucks,

I know that the BMW 335i handle and perform the best in this segment both on the road and track but in the post above, I am judging from a how it look NOT perform.

@LexusSucks,

I hope you know most people that buy one of the following in this list can easily get a BMW 3-Series as well. Here are the list Audi A5/S5, MB C-Class, BMW 335i, Infiniti G37, Lexus IS350, Acura TL, once you get it fully loaded they are pretty close in pricing. It just a matter of taste and need.

You don't have to tell me BMW 335i out perform all the car in this segment, I know that. Like Bmw8ter, say perform is Not everything but it a part of the equation when it come to buying a car. I got my G37 coupe because I think it very SeXy and look like a Maserati Gran Turismo and the way it exhaust note sound.

Rich man's Accord Coupe.
BTW almost all Mercedes(and Audi) got semi-circle roofline but not this model. Seems like Mercedes wanted to be as close to the winning formula(BMW 3 coupe) as possible.

Looks okay. Have to see more pictures but front end design as in refreshed sedan looks weak.
