New Audi A9 And Lamborghini Estoque To Share Chassis

Audi is pursuing ambitious plans for a technologically advanced, luxuriously equipped coupé-like saloon called the A9.

It’s conceived to sit at the very top of Audi’s line-up as a high-priced rival to the Mercedes-Benz CL and Porsche Panamera, as well as a forthcoming production version of the BMW GranCoupé concept, due in early 2012.

The new four-door forms the centrepiece of a new model programme that aims to provide Audi with an overtly sporting sister model to the third-generation A8 — a move the German car maker has already mirrored lower down in its line-up with the four-door A7 and seventh-generation A6.

2. Looks like an A4.
3. I wouldn't buy a Lamborghini with a VW chassis.
4. The i8 kills this.
5. Audi - Always Unsatisfied Driving It.
6. It will be overpriced and slow.

It looks good, but this is an Autocar rendering, so I don't think I'd even call this a concept. As such, there's nothing to mess up just yet.

Why does the VW Group need a car to fight one of its own cars their product strategies are really odd. For one the A7 should be the car thats fighting the upcoming "6 series sedan", and if the A9 isn't rear wheel drive I really dont see whats the point of adding it to the lineup. Ironically all of these cars all share the exact same platform, A4, A5, A6, Q5, A8, A7, now the A9, and even a lamborghini lol.....and I wonder how many cars they are going to platform engineer as all new models that look like what they are shortened, stretched, or crossover versions of the exact same car...

AUDI = Glamourized VWs
and in the near future,Lambo= Audi=Porsche in one form or another.
Platform engineering worked for the big 3 for a time then it went downhill. I just hope VW group will be better at platform sharing even after 10 to 15 years down the line.
