Subaru to use Impreza Concept’s styling across range through next 2 years
Within the next two years, Subaru is planning to roll out its new Impreza Concept’s styling features across its full range. These design changes will come with fresh engineering that includes an all-new hybrid powertrain to go with the latest boxer engine. I don't know how I'm feeling about their concept :/

Decent, but rather derivative. The front wheel arches look very similar to the Mazda 6. Front fascia intakes are borrowed from the BMW X6 (among others), and the headlights and grill are Japanese generic. Personally, I'd prefer a more original "wrapper" for their great drivetrains, but, given their niche status, Subaru is probably better served with this safe, populist approach. I suspect the lack of sales for the original Tribeca pushed Subaru into a safer design direction.

BlackDynamite, you're applying a much broader definition of "derivative" than I. I'm not talking about reinventing the wheel—just adding a distinctive wrinkle that creates a little separation from the masses. There are plenty of relatively original designs out there. The Mazda 6, Audi TT, Cadillac CTS, just to name a few, each own distinctive design cues. This Subaru just aggregates design elements from several other vehicles.
